If you are in Tiruvannamalai, then go to Sathya's Cafe and it probably will not be the only time you go 😉

Because we stayed at the Sathya's guest house, we ate at the cafe many times (breakfast, lunch, pizza (wed+sat) and dinner).
Veggies, potatoes, dosa, papadam, idly are all very good.
The pizza is really good too. It has a thin crust (like tarte flambee) and they also spared the cheese upon our request (vegan).

Though a bit sweet, the lemon ginger tee saved us when we had a bit of a sore throat 😊

Best place for good food and ambience in Tiruvannamalai. The food quality is great, you feel like having ur home food. We happened to have all three Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on the same day here. You get good food for nominal price here.

Satya's is great. We had yummy dosa, and then couldn't resist ordering seconds. The fact that they were serving customers the day after an important family celebration is proof of their commitment to us customers. Lovely place, great food, service, and prices. If you're in Tiruvannamalai, don't miss it.

A hidden gem! Their wood fired pizza is cheesy and absolutely flavourful, and surprisingly light on the stomach and the pocket 😀They seem to serve it only twice a week though.

Best dosas, warm idlis and their Ragi Dosa is my personal favorite. It's a family owned restaurant, they make and serve all their food themselves, they do take a lot of care with the intricacies of ingredients. Nothing tastes too sharp or overpowering. The food is highly nutritious and most importantly really inexpensive.

Spacious and hygienic cafe with excellent, pocket friendly food (breakfast, lunch and dinner). You get authentic, south indian fare for the most part and wood fired pizzas (even vegan ones!) for dinner as well. Run by a small family who are very cordial. Do check it out !

Tasty Indian style breakfast, great thali ( rice, red or white with a lot of veggies ) and dosa' s also in the evening. This year I tried the pizza and it's very good (served on Wednesday and Saturday evening)
They offer also western style food. But since I don't eat that I can't say anything about it. Nice family restaurant, kind people.

A lovely urban place with good local food and sometimes even a delicious Pizza. The family that runs that Café are very friendly and helpful. A place I definitely can recommend and will come back to.

The best cheap place. The onion dosa my favourite. A chill place and very friendly. They have fan and WiFi. I like the juice and the dosas I eat. I've been there several days during my time in Tiruvannamalai. Recomended

The only poems that came to me spontaneously and compelled me, as it were, to write them without any one urging me to do so are the ‘Eleven (Ten) Stanzas to Sri Arunachala’ and the ‘Eight Stanzas to Sri Arunachala’. The opening words of the ‘Eleven Stanzas’ came to me one morning and even though I tried to suppress them saying ‘What have I to do with these words?’ they would not be suppressed till I composed  a song bringing them in; and all the words flowed easily, without any effort. In the same way the second stanza was made the next day and the succeeding ones the following days, one each day. Only the tenth and eleventh were composed the same day.”

And describing how he composed the ‘Eight Stanzas’, said:

“The next day I started out to go round the hill. Palaniswami was not with me for a while but caught me up later. That day, before I got back to Virupaksha, I wrote six of the eight stanzas. Either that evening or the next day Narayana Reddi came. He was at that time living in Vellore as an agent of Singer & Co., and he used to come from time to time. Aiyasami and Palani told him about the poems and he said, “Give them to be at once and I will go and get them printed.” He had already published some books. When he insisted on taking the poems I told him he could so and could publish the first eleven as one poem and the rest; which were in a different metre, as another. To make up the required quota I at once composed two more stanzas and he took all the nineteen stanzas with him to get them published.”

Great and very reasonably priced food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Serve great pizza Wednesday and Saturday. Great juices and lassis
