The Trailokyanatha Jainaswami Temple , in Jainakanchi , a few minutes drive outside Kanchi city , is wellworth a visit, but , according to the priest , not many people do. Which is a pitybecause its such a beautiful, serene place with a lot of heritage value .
The priest lives in the house right opposite the temple and is happy to open it for visitors , even after it is closed after morning puja. And he is also very informative .
The vimana is apsidal ( gajaprishta akara) . The mukhamantapa has excellently restored murals ,illustrating stories from Jain mythology , dating from 16th - 17th Century .

The temple is well-kept and clean, probably because it is not directly under the guardianship or the almighty Archeological Society of India.

That said, not sure what the deal is, but it seems to be under the custodianship of a family that lives opposite the temple.

Old people come by and scream at visitors for unknown reasons from time to time. It’s an astonishing scene.

Don’t think the temple had established hours of visit.

The temple needs a facelift from outside because there were black stains all over the gopuram. Unfortunately, I went when the temple was closed.

However, it would be great to see the grandeur of the place given a fitting facelift.

One of the jewels of Kanchi, serene, well maintained, hidden gem, this olace is stunning especially the paintings on the roof and quaint setting of the temple adds to the splendour. This jain temple is built in Hindu style with vimanas and this shows how The Pallavas were magnanimous when it came to religion, culture and art. The sculpture or the Vigraham of the Gurus are simply stunning.. Must visit place

Thiruparuthikundram Jain Temple is a twin Jain Temple dating back to 9th century AD. Constructed during the dominion of the Pallava Kings and christened as Trilokyanatha Temple and Chandraprabha Temple, these twin Jain Temples testify the Jain existence in this part of the country since the primordial era. This precinct of Kanchipuram set up in the suburban area of the city on the banks of the river Palar is reckoned far and wide by the epithet; ‘Jina Kanchi’. This Jain Temple enshrines Lord Mahaveer as its presiding deity and the idol of Lord Mahaveer painted in bright pink and portrayed in the sitting posture is flanked by two attendants colored in bright red and bright green and bedecked with dazzling golden ornaments. This 9th century temple built in yellow sandstone is primarily famed for its inscriptions belonging to the Pallava Sovereign; Narasimhavarman II, Chola Rulers Rajendra Chola I, Kulothunga Chola I & Vikrama Chola and the Kanarese inscriptions of the Vijayanagara King Krishnadevaraya. Additionally, the Thiruparuthikundram Jain Temple also houses some outstanding paintings from 17th century AD. Presently, this Jain Temple of Kanchipuram is preserved under the custody of the Tamil Nadu Archaeological Department.
