Excellent place, great food, and lovely ambiance. We loved the place, although it was a bit costly. I would recommend a day trip, where one can enjoy all the aspects apart from sleeping in the well decorated rooms. However, if the price is not a problem, full experience with an overnight stay will be excellent. We even had a private burtler for the night who helped us in every way possible. We enjoyed our time to the fullest.

Excellent overall!! Worth every penny.
Rooms, facilities, food and services are all of high quality. Local excursion (boat ride and sunset on the river) was very good. Overall design of service is well thought out and of high taste.
The best is the employees who run it. All of them demonstrated passion to serve the guests. Our concierge Gautam was A+

Definitely a great place for a day trip or overnight stay or an office party or a wedding.

I had a fantastic stay at The Rajbari Bawali resort. The staff's behavior was exceptional, making me feel truly welcome throughout my stay. The food was delicious, offering a delightful taste of Bengali cuisine along with varieties of north Indian and chinese. The spacious and comfortable rooms added to the overall satisfaction of my stay. I also want to commend the excellent service provided by the hotel staff especially Mr. Ali and the manager. It made my stay truly memorable.

The Rajbari Bawali is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Bengali countryside, offering an enchanting blend of impeccable service and delectable cuisine. My recent visit to this splendid heritage property left me utterly impressed, as it seamlessly combined old-world charm with modern hospitality, resulting in an unforgettable experience.

Upon arriving at The Rajbari Bawali, I was immediately struck by the sheer grandeur of the property. The majestic architecture and lush greenery exuded a sense of timeless elegance, transporting me to a bygone era. The property's rich history as a zamindari estate added to its allure, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a taste of royal Bengal.

This is an exceptional place to visit. Rare to find a top class Resort in such West Bengal Village setting. Everything here is just top class. We stayed for four days . Every moment has been worth it. But getting accomodation is rather difficult. Seems that there are months of waiting. But one can do day visit and have their super lunch

We had a memorable one day stay for our anniversary in December 2023.
It was on our bucket list for quite some time and I am happy we were finally able to check it off.
Everything was amazing - the property is gorgeous- lots of insta-worthy corners, the staff is very helpful, the food is mouth watering and our room ( Royal Suite) was great.
The evening performances are to be seen to be believed- spell- binding!
Only issue is with the Wi-Fi - very patchy connectivity.
Among the staff, Kanchi and Nibedita were exceptional.

A proper heritage. Bengali authenticated culture is extremely evident though surprisingly the owner is a Marwari. Whoever is running the show did not forget the minute detail to make your experience unforgettable. Staying their during the festival time is really great. Very pleasingly they've trained some localites to serve here, men and women, they're nicely trained. Slight deviation of few staffs in service may be corrected which however can easily be excused comparing to service they're providing. The chef here is marvelous.

One of the best hospitality I have ever experienced. The staff are courteous, promptly taking care of one's requests.
Now coming to the food.. The best food I have had it in a while.. If you like bengali cuisine then you are in for a treat here with their Zamindari Thali(must try). Even the other menu item we tried/breakfast was really good. Do try the baked dahi in the breakfast spread.
Also they had some activities planned for the guest and one should not miss the evening Aarti. Such a pleasant experience that is.
Just one (-) thing - rooms here doesn't come with a fridge but you can ask the staffs to cool the drinks or something else.. Overall Rating 4.9/5

Barely an hour from South Kolkata, the Rajbari Bawali is an impressive restoration of what was once a crumbling heritage property. Perfect for a weekend stay with friends or family, as we personally experienced. Our room was upgraded to a Zamindari Suite which was plush, spacious , comfortable, and looked straight out of a period film .

The Rajbari is beautiful and a stunning backdrop for photos - as evidenced by the multiple pre-wedding photoshoots that were happening. Every corner is tastefully decorated.

The Sandhya arti is the highlight of the evening entertainment, which included classical dance performances and a young contemporary music performer during our stay.

The food served at Rajbari is fresh and delectable..we enjoyed every meal, from the breakfast buffet to the dinner a la carte menu, to evening snacks at the Verandah bar.

Staff is plentiful, and their service is warm and courteous. Our personal caretaker was Nivedita, who was very attentive to our requests.

They have a spa, which we didn't have time to try, and a pool - which looked quite murky, but that's mostly because of all the construction going on.

The property is huge and sprawling and they're building further, so there was quite a bit of work going on while we were there but it wasn't too intrusive.

The only gap we experienced was somewhat in the communication. For example, some of the stuff we read about online on verified platforms couldn't be matched to the actual offerings. But nothing major.

We would definitely like to return!

The iconic "The Rajbari Bawali" where many beautiful films have been shot including Khandhar by Mrinal Sen, Jalsaghar by Satyajit Ray, Chokher Bali by Rituparno Ghosh, and Bulbul by Anvita Dutt is a beautiful property to visit.

The setting, the ancient walls and rooms, the trees and walkways, the ponds that dot the landscape, the cuisine, everything has a story to tell of a time when Zamindars brought wealth and culture to the remotest parts of Bengal.

Now converted into a heritage property by Ajay Rawla while still maintaining the aura of a resplendent past! Truly majestic and beautiful - and mysterious ❤ - a place to visit atleast once ❤ if not again and again. Carolann Hooper is doing a fantastic job of making every guest feel special whilst maintaining the aura of ancient Heritage! Young Alex can be seen going to and fro at a furious pace, effortlessly making sure that the property is managed behind the scenes.

Truly a royal experience in all.

Very nice heritage experience over a day and a night. The highlight has to be the food. The attention to detail in every aspect of the restoration and decor is impeccable. The rooms were a mixed bag from stunning (223/224) to average (218).

Even if you can't stay the night, do a day trip for lunch etc.
