Tumsang Tea Retreat

Very homely atmosphere and gives off that nostalgic vibe if the british era. Food here is perfect and absolutely homemade. It is very warm and welcoming. The Resort manager, Mr William Gonsalves is a very welcoming host. One thing to keep in mind is never to order coffee, though it is served, here. The reason being that the entire retreat is famous for tea. The manager is very passionate about the tea as well. So be warned.

Had the experience of staying in this beautiful estate while in Darjeeling, this stay is certainly a memorable one.
It is a good 1 1/2 hour away from Darjeeling, towards Ghum and the road that leads to it is equally bad. But once reached there it's an amazing place. Huge wooden floored rooms with large whole wall encompassing windows which lets you view the entire range of Kanchenjunga. Rooms come with all the bare minimum necessities.
Meals are usually decided based on what the guests want and if you are the only guest then it's completely your choice. They have their own vegetable garden from which they collect produce, but if any other special requests are made they can be completed as well, provided they are informed earlier.
The staff and the manager were extremely courteous as well.
However the cherry on top was the unobstructed view of Kanchenjunga right from the porch and the hot steaming pot of Golden tea every morning, made from the tea of the estate.

Tum Song Tea Retreat is a heaven... An abode... A place of solitude...a place of security.. a place of peace. Located 3/4 hour drive from NJP/Bagdogra airport. Huge bungalow with manicured huge lawn, overlooking green hills and blue sky. Greeted by Mr. William... All in all of the retreat. Warm welcome treat with first flush tea and pakora. Extremely nice and maintained colonial bungalow with modern amenities. Foods just superb. Breakfast lunch snacks dinner... Whatever you want, mr. William makes it with five star level... Yet it is Retreat... Place of tranquility which you will never find in a star hotel. You can have a long walk in the tea garden, interaction with the local people. Or you can just spend the day by listening good music and reading books. All are available here. So, Tum Song Retreat is a must for those who want retreat..not hustling bustling crowded holidays.

Excellent place for nature lovers. Luxury rooms with grand views of the mountains. To top it all, Mr. Williams will take care of your every needs.

A place nestled in the lap of nature.An absolute OUT OF THIS WORLD heritage property. Stunningly beautiful. Serene calm and tranquil.

Great place, absolutely loved it, cut off from all daily rush and noise ... The mountain view is also awesome and the tea garden is a plus.
