Beautiful place Porath in Bank of Mahanadi River . Makar sankranti mela famous here and and yagya takes place here on various occasions. This is also famous for the Temple of Lord Shiva 🔱 which view of the temple is very beautiful. The entire scenery of temple and river is marvellous. You can also do boating , photographies here. Good place for picnic with friends & family.

Porath Temple is Lord Mahadev (Shiva) Temple, Situated 30 kilometres from Raigarh city. It is situated on the bank of river Mahanadi . It is an ancient historical temple, believed that A saint worshiped Shiva here, and wished for the water of the Ganges. Therefore Mahanadi is as holy as the Ganges.
A very grand fair is held here, which is held on the day of Makar Sankranti and
and yagya takes place here on various occasions There is a temple next to it -- Lord Shani Dev temple.The view of the temple is very beautiful. The entire scenery of temple and river is marvellous. You can also do boating , photographies here. Good place for picnic with friends & family . When there is a flood in Porath, the whole temple gets submerged !!
