Maha Mrityunjay Temple, Nagaon

Located at Puranigudam in Nagaon District of Assam is the Hindu temple called Maha Mrityunjay Mandir. As it is constructed in the shape of a Shivling, this Temple is unique in terms of architecture. With a height of 126 feet, it is the World’s Tallest Shivalinga.Good place for visiting a temple with family. No headache for parking a car or a vehicle.

I visited this beautiful temple on Monday, so it little crowded. Arrived just before 12.30, so we could not offer Puja. Because maha Mrityunjaya temple remains close from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. But we can light the diya, because for that another place was provided nearby the temple. We had khichdi provided from temple. Inside the temple, water facility available. Outside, washrooms available for both men and women. Loved the vibe of this place. Will visit again

A wonderfully constructed shivling and temple- it is located in a very large area with a lot of scope for development and improvement. Really loved the entire aura and vibes of this place. Note that visiting on Sundays or public holidays can be a bit difficult owing to the many worshippers of Lord Shiva who visit the temple.
I hope the management committee maintains it properly and builds more facilities like banisters, sheds to protect against rain and sun in the future.
Would recommend every one to visit it.

A divine place, feels good to be there, the place is yet in beautification mode(construction going on). People go to worship but some have been seen to be littering around, despite dustbins being provided.

It's a relatively new temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The entire temple has an interesting architecture. The temple complex is circular in shape and the temple has been designed resembling a Shiva Linga. The entry to the Sanctum Santorum is very well organised where devotees can make offerings in a systematic way. The arrangement for jal/milk abhisek is quite interesting.

All should go, the mandir stays open till 12:30pm in the morning. And at 12:30 Bhog is given to the devotees.

Have visited twice here, the temple is a massive one, I took few drone shots during sunset. However, most of the time it's crowded. Try to visit on weekdays. There are plenty of veg food options outside the temple premises. Also there are few shops which sell framed photo and small idols of shiva. Helipad can also be found within the temple campus.

Good place to worship. Requires cleaning in and around the temple.

Items and statuettes available at Nearby shops are overpriced.

It is huge and has Beautiful architecture! The place and roadway is a bit secluded so better to go in group… sitting on the stairs of temple with breeze gives peaceful vibes

The structure of the temple itself is in the form of a shivling and it is the biggest shivling in India. The sanctum sanctorum is inside the huge structure. Being a new construction, the whole area is clean and properly maintained. Being located in a village, the whole ambience is very serene and calm. The local population has also benefited from the huge footfall and the resultant economic activities. Hope the upkeep and cleanliness is maintained in the longer term.
A great place to spend some peaceful time being in proximity of your god.

The structure is truly great and beautiful. It was neat and clean. We could feel the spiritual feeling of Lord Shiva. Although lacking some other aspects like hotels, restaurants, restrooms and staircase handlebars (for safety).

A must visit place in Nagaon district . The Temple is situate near 3 km distance from the highway . You can offer puja to lord Shiva in morning hour and afternoon also (after 1:30 PM) .

It is the place where highest Shivling is built. It s look good and make feel spritual. All Bhole bhakt and others should visit this place. It is near Nagaon Assam 130 Kms from Guwahati on NH37. Har Har Mahadev. Happy Mahashivratri to all.

A very calm and serene place. A must visit place for every one. One you enter the temple you can see how beautifully they have maintained the place. Though construction it not fully complete.
Need more public restroom.

One can have a good time their. The view is scenic, this temple is spread across a very big area of land. The shivling is visible from very far.
The temple is really beautiful. You can also chant inside the temple and also can have prashadam.

World tallest Shiva Lingam ! Surrounding greenery and small stalls looks amaze ! Security staff doing good job and maintenance also pretty good. I really feel blessed because i got change to see the Temple . Thank you .

Maha Mrityunjay Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Hindu God Shiva, situated in Nagaon, Assam, India. This Temple is special in its architectural sense as it is built in a form a Shivling. It is the World's largest Shivaling, at the height of 126 foot. This feature is made it unique and very attractive for the devotees. The Temple Inauguration was done by Pran Pratishta Mahotsav, worship (Puja) was stated on 22 Feb and ended on 25 Feb 2021, As special guest the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah, Minister of Health and Education in Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Ex. Chief Minister of Assam Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal had participated the puja and Yagna of Maha Mrityunjay Temple. 108 Yagna Kundas was established for the Yagna and around 250 priests came from Tamil Nadu to perform the Pran Pratishta Yagna. After completion of Pran Pratishta Yagna the Temple was opened for devotees from 26 Feb 2021.
