Gurudwara Jhulna Mehal

Place of Guru Arjun Dev Ji, Guru sahib stayed here for while sewa of excavation of holy tank of Tarn Taarn Sahib was being dug. One day while Guru Sahib Ji was preaching , army with elephants 🐘 was passing by. Sikhs started to gaze the waving moment of elephants 🐘. Guru ji has been building some walls at this place for a building. Seeing the attention of sangat Guru Sahib uttered, these walls will also swing/ wace like those elephants. Really, these was swing even today.

Historical Gurudwara here Guru Arjan dev ji had spent 7 yrs to overview the excavation of holy pond of sri tarntarn sahib...when his son Guruji hargobind sahib came here to meet him..he felt so happy and blesse this place for the love and warmth he found on meeting his son....Truly serenity belongs to this place..Waheguruji

its name jhulna mehal after a 2feet wide wall and 9 feet long and about 8 feet high wall , that actually shakes ਝੂਲਦੀ ਹੈ,

A wall on which when you sit, feels like it is swaying like an elephant's throne 🐘.

And then when the gifted one does the Ardas(prayer to God) you will experience the wall vibrating or shaking but you do not see it moving.

People also have the option of taking auto taxi etc at a nominal fare.

The history - Guru Arjan would hold diwans for the Sangat to provide education and guidance on spiritual matters.

Once, while a diwan was in progress, the mughal forces of emperor Jahangir passed nearby. The mughal army had elephants, horse's and soldiers and the Sangat was distracted.

When Guru Arjan asked why the Sangat was distracted and what they were looking at, they said they were looking at the tall elephants.

Guru Arjan said he would build an object that would last longer than the elephants and created a short wall, as high as the tallest elephants, for the Sangat to climb and sit on.

Inside the Gurdwara is a Tham which was used in the original Gurdwara building said to be from the time of Guru Arjan.

Its a historical place. Situated on the Amritsar to tarantaran road. Just 1k.m. from the main road.parking is also available for cars bikes.

Only one a get a chance to visit this historical place in my life.
When i visit this place the granthi sahib explain the history very briefly and its touchs the heart.
The gurdwara sahib is located on a village which is bit away from the main high way road .
