Goga Baba Hill

Health and fitness enthusiasts must visit this place. Early morning will be the best time to start climbing. Unfortunately I chosen Sunday for trek and to my surprise the was crowded like hell. Overall experience was good. You would spot some goons around that better ignored.

Nice moderate trek near Aurangabad University. Have hiked this daily for six months. There are two ways to reach the top.... one is short but very steep and challenging and the other is longer but easier to get to the scenic top of the hill. There are many spots to get an amazing view of the city scape.

The way is from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Gate.
In mansoon it gets it's true glory.

There are two ways to climb:

Front way -
High elevation gain not for new comers... Might get slippery during rain, directly takes to the gogababa temple

Right side -
Easy to climb mostly walking, recommended for small children's. After reaching top flat area climb to left side for temple, if you take right then it takes you to Aurangabad caves Hill-top ...

Sunday mostly crowded so not recommend if you come here for peace and quality time with family...

Fog covers up all the hill after heavy rain, and this place feels like a Sahyadri hill station.

Just one thing to say,
You have to sacrifice your sleep in the morning before sunrise to get most Beauty of this place.

I went there very early in morning because most of the people said that sunrise is best thing to see there 🌻

For best experience reach Dr. Babasaheb University main entrance by 5.15am and it will take 30 min to reach you at base from University gate .Start climbing by approximately 5.45am you will reach on Top within 30-40 min(even if you are beginner) and then you will get an astonishing view of Sambhajinagar -those city lights and colourful sky will definitely make your day cheerful 🥰 I hault there for approximately 1 hour - took photos and video and then start return journey . Returning route was easy so it take just 20 min to reach downhill.There are tea stall at base so you can have a morning refreshing drink😅

The Gogababa hill at the mouth of the Sahyadri reneges in the area behind the university is surrounded by natural beauty and is a special attraction for the city dwellers.

It is very crowded on weekends.

Naturally, it got the name Gogababa Hill because there is a temple of Gogababa on the hill.

This is a picnic point. People come here with family.

Do visit the place before sunrise for beautiful view and avoid on weekends as it is crowded on weekends.

Front way is bit slippery so take care while climbing. From the top of hill, you can enjoy beautiful city view.

Best place of trekking in Aurangabad. It has 2 routes to go up. One takes around 25 mins , is steep and slight tricky while the other can be climbed easily and takes around 45 mins. Its a very beautiful place for sunset and amazing point for photography . People are extremely friendly and a person helped us to show the path. Its important that you don't carry anything heavy and wear trekking shoes.

If you want to feel very adventurous
Go on rainy season and go from back side of the hill from top of the Aurangabad caves bcoz in rainy season there's a lot of of smoke spreaded every where on the hill.
People enjoyed a lot and it definitely makes your day very happy....

Must go in monsoon!! People in Aurangabad goes for trekking at holiday. You can enjoy the peace and natural beauty here. People can visit with family and friends both.

No crowds due to the lockdown (usually Sundays are very crowded) and an amazing breeze near the top. Lovely views of the city. Good hike of about an hour.

Nice spot for a short trek in Aurangabad. One of the very few places in Aurangabad that are in proximity with nature. Space for parking available at the bottom of the hill. Just remember to descend from the rear side of the hill and not from where you climbed. From the rear side you can also go the Hanuman Tekdi.

Awesome place to visit with friends and family in monsoon and winter seasons. One can see the best view of aurangabad city from top. Even Bibi ka Makbara is very beautiful from top of the hill
