Banas Dairy is the Biggest Dairy in Asia. Banas Dairy have a record collection of 90 lakh litres in a single day. The Dairy is processing and packing milk and Milk products in Amul brand mostly and a few in Sagar and Banas brand.
They have sophisticated art of technology plants for Icecream, Butter processing, Powder, Cheese, Flavoured milk, UHT milk and what not.

Banas Dairy, Palanpur. I visited here today as the part of my industrial visit. We were approximately 100 students and also faculties were there. Reached here at 11 am and first went to the 3rd plant which was mainly for production of icecream and different types of butter. All the machines were German made and production was fast and it was good to observe that cleanliness was maintained overall. Next visited another plant of refrigeration which consisted of compressors, evaporators, economiser and many different components. After that visited cheese plant and it was so satisfying for a foodie like me to see cheese in making. Also saw boiler section which also interesting. Overall, maintenance was perfect and it's a great dairy for which India is proud of. Kudos!!

on January 31st, 1969, Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Ltd (Banas Dairy) got registered under The Cooperative Societies Act. Later on, on January 14th, 1971, Galbakaka inaugurated the Banas Dairy Plant spread in 122 acres which is currently situated in Jagana Village- 4 kms away from present Palanpur. Beginning with some hundred litres per day, Banas Dairy today has reached on an average daily capacity of 5.7 million litres milk production.
