Karavalli

Karavalli is a high-end restaurant serving cuisine from the West coast of India in a refined setting. Seafood plays a major role in the cooking along the coast, and we tried the Kane Kaidina (whole lady fish) and the Malvani Surmai (seer fish steak), both of which were covered in a red spice paste and shallow-fried. I also got the Mangalorean Fish Curry, which came with sliced white pomfret fish in a spiced coconut curry, which went nicely with the thin neer dosa and fluffy appam we ordered on the side. On the table came more accompaniments including rasam, tomato and coconut chutneys, papad, crunchy rings, and pickle, and everything was presented beautifully and served on a banana leaf. What a delicious seafood meal!

Best place to try sea food, although I dint try but they have many options, the quality, quantity and the taste is really good. They have very nice service and the price is budget friendly. Best to visit with family and friends.

Have eaten here few times and it’s consistently delicious 😋 excellent ambiance as it’s hidden away from the hustle bustle of the city. All the items I tried was unbeatable. They have a sampling menu and one can choose to their needs. Indulge yourself 😋

Awesome ambience, excellent service and delicious food. I have been there many times. Their Neer dose, Appam and Vegetable stew is wow! They correctly guide as to how much you have to order for. The stewards are very courteous and professional. This is my 4th visit. Best place to try Tulunadu/Karavalli food.

A very cosy place for a lovely evening with your loved ones.
Completely coastal cuisine the have kerala and mangalore style food.
The cost is on the pricy side and everything is above 1000rs. The quantity is also small.
But this place is a go to for a luxurious evening with the right amount of light.
They have an outdoor and indoor seating. So its better to reserve the seat if u want to dine outdoors.

The food at Karavalli has been the most authentic coastal cuisine you can taste in Bengaluru. There is outdoor seating arrangement here. We had tried attirachy ularthi, neychoru, appam and meen pollichathu. All the dishes were really tasty.

Thoroughly satisfied with this place. Absolutely outstanding. Everything was top-notch. The food, ambience, service, everything was absolutely fantastic.

The place has got an indoor as well as outdoor seating area, we made ourselves comfortable outdoors. the seating is in a garden which has a stream running and has a lot of greenery around. Brilliant setting it is

For food we first ordered a crab Milangu fry, Tiger Prawns roast and coorg chicken fry. All these dishes tasted out of the world and were fantastic. The crab is cooked in a south Indian spicy pepper masala which gives it a scintillating taste. Tiger prawns roast has big pieces of tiger prawns roasted in traditional spices, While coorg chicken fry has chunks of boneless chicken cooked in a spicy masala and tastes incredible.

We further ordered a few more starters like camaro con cilantro, kane bezule and chicken ghee roast.
Camaro con cilantro is basically spicy prawns which tastes scrumptious. Kane bezule is whole lady fish pan cooked in mangalorean spices. tastes delightful. While chicken ghee roast has big chunks of boneless chicken cooked in ghee and spices. You get a strong flavour of ghee and tastes delectable.

For desert we ordered a bebinca and dodol.
Both these dishes were unique and I had them for the first time ever.
Bebinca has a scoop of ice cream served with jaggery based payasam and a goan style pudding. Tastes heavenly.
Dodol also has a scoop of ice cream served with a chocolate and jaggery based rice cake. MOUTHWATERING.

Service also was top-notch and we were taken extremely good care of by a team comprising of Vinoth, Sunder and Kiran. Thanks to these guys for making our evening a memorable one.

Chef Ramachandran + Anthony: Amazing combo for a once on the lifetime experience in culinary journey through the coastal cusine extravaganza. Every dish, and recommandation were spot-on. The taste exquisite. Highly recommended.

Best restaurant, which always serves fresh sea food.Had been there twice. Food to try fish meal, prawn ghee roast, crab masala, rava fry. Food was tasty. Service was too good.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better South Indian fine dining experience in India let alone Bangalore. What I enjoyed most about the food at Karavalli is the authenticity. They didn't back away from the spices and the depth of flavour that's required to create this kind of cuisine. We had a variety of dishes and each one of them was wonderful as were all the accompaniments.

Special mention needs to go to the service at Karavalli which is really great. We had Uday as our host and he was extremely knowledgable about the menu and gave great recommendations and was excellent throughout.

Karavalli is a must visit and deserves its legendary status.

Revisited My favorite restaurant of all time again after a long time. The staff made us feel just as welcome as were on day one. Chef Ram basically blew us away with the absolute culinary delights that their dishes are know for. If you haven't been here yet, make it a MUST in 2022. You owe yourself and your palate this gift!!

We also had a special request since we were celebrating a birthday and they spared no effort in making sure it was celebrated fabulously as well. They arranged a cake for us and even hoisted this beautiful umbrella to give it that extra oomph. Last but most definitely not the least were the efforts put forth from Vinoth, Anthony, Kiran and Boopathi to make this a lunch to remember. Thank you for making our day!!! As a Westerner I was nervous coming to India and eating the local food. I must say I was shocked at how delicious it is. The food here was amazing. For lunch I ordered the Catameran dish which came with two different types of bread (I can't recall the names) to eat the several different type of curries with. There were wet curries and dry curries, and I enjoyed the two chicken curries and the cabbage curry the best. The service was also incredible, everyone was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Although this place is known for Sea food, we had vegetarian food and it tasted really good. Loved the Appam with pineapple pachddi. The smol masala dosas were amaze! the Payasam was perfect. But the paisa vasool item was the rasam - it put me in THE mood. Shout out to Sunder, Anthony & team for their service.

It's tucked away just minutes away from the main road. It's quiet and serene amidst the green foilage.i felt engulfed by oxygen due to the greenary. Seating both inside and outside. And it's comfortably placed.
The ambience is lovely and I particularly loved the Grandfather's Clock ticking away. The decor is lovely. Staff were pleasant, cordial and helpful.
Food was a delight. It's known for its sea food preparations. So that should be a Must Have. It has meat too in it's menu.
Washroom is outside but in it's compound. Separate for the tents and ladies. And it's well lighted, neat and well maintained.
Have the choice of Self parking or valet.

Pandamic has made our day to day lives topsy turvey.. where we did not think to eat out..has put us all in a delima..to eat out or not..
Sunday lunch was after much deliberation.. First and foremost try and book in advance..tables shifted for mini distance arrangement. Staff were careful with Sanitisation and mask . But they had a smile on their faces as they were scurry around attending to their guests.
Had to wait a while ..but order placed was served piping hot and as tasty. And one can ask them for recommendations as to what one would like to eat.
Lockdown has indeed made them "spin on their toes".. so please be patient and wait for your order.. these guys are doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Went here on advice from a colleague, and then it turned into my favorite restaurant in Bangalore. Every dish is perfect. The lobster was an experience of its own. The service was perfect with a waitor that took control and guided us through the courses. This place has become a tradition to visit on every Bangalore trip.

After a long time, got a chance to visit this beautiful place... I had heard quite a lot about this place and it really stands upto its legacy... The staff was very polite throughout the visit... The food was delicious... You can make out the difference due to the freshly made spices... The rassam, fish starters and main course dishes each item had a different taste... Being a first time visitor, Mr. Anthony helped in choosing the right combinations as per our need. He also customized dishes for us so that we could taste variety of flavors... Thank you so much Anthony, Sanjay and Shaktived for a superb service... Overall we enjoyed the food and time we spent here...

My family had come to Bangalore and they wanted to try the best sea foods here. After exploring a lot we finally decided to go here, and no doubt I can say my family is satisfied to the core. Amazing ambiance & hospitality by Nagesh, Saranya & Sundar. Their Ghee roast Crabs & Surmai fish were the showstoppers. Even their prawn roast were good. Crab ghee roast went well with neer dosa. In main course we had karavali mutton curry & kori gassi with rice & appam, they just tasted perfect. In the end they even gave special payasam, which was perfect for our sweet tooth.

The hospitality, ambiance & tasty sea foods was worth the price.
