Kirat Sagar is located at Malakpura in Mahoba District. Built between AD 1060 and 1100, this lake has fine ghats with granite steps.

Bundelkhand's Kajli Mela is held here in August. A hill of red earth at the backdrop enhances its beauty. Some tombs are seen atop the hill. Alha's Batika, a roofless granite structure, is found beside this lake.

After renovation it's condition reach a new level. It is an historical place. Its edge is approx 1 km long and 50 meter wide. A famous Kajli mela is held on its bank in August during Rakhi, A famous festival of hindus in India
