A great place, very peaceful and calm during the weekdays. The view from the top is outstanding especially during the monsoon season. This is a must visit when in and around Madikeri

Talacauvery, the birth place of Kodagina Kaveri. The place is decked in the lovely western ghats and has a breathtaking view. It's a nature lover paradise and your chance to offer obeisance to mother nature. The govt has done a great job in maintaining this place and its trulywonderful to spend some quiet time.
I reached past 1 pm and couldn't get darshan in the temple as it was closed till 2:30 pm. Managed to get prasadam.. laddu and khajjaya that was yum.
Talakaveri is just out of the world and an escape from mundanes of th city.

Abode of hills, birth place of River Kaveri in the Brahmagiri range of Western ghats. A scenic beauty and peaceful landscape. Visit here if you need some silence and shanthi. Worth to visit.

This was just an awesome experience and I would recommend everyone who is visiting Coorg to visit this place. The rainwater drizzling with various speed and the foggy weather which would find you of perfect serenity you would have ever imagined. The temple gives you the purity and also the flavour of godliness. You will find peace here.

One of most scenic routes around the Western ghats. Heavenly dense forest and with that 20-30 small to huge water falls. This route should be travelled at least once. During peak monsoon the whole route would be foggy and cool. Just too beautiful.

Passed through the GTNP en route to Talakaveri immediately after COVID unlock process. We took the route via Panathur and it is one of the best routes to ride if you are in North Kerala. The forest is thick and the road curvy and small, but the view at either side of the road is amazing and you will get very little traffic to bother about. We stopped a lot to click photos and enjoy the occasional waterfall and just to experience nature as it is. You can also go upto Coorg from Bhagamandala easily. Next time you are going to Coorg, try the Kanhangad-Panathur-GTNP route!

Birth place of the great River Kaveri. Starts here from an underground spring, which flows down to a pond, and further down the hills. There is a small temple at the location of the spring. The surrounding Brahmagiri hill and the views are fantastic here.

Very divine and empowering place surrounded by positivity of mother nature. Frequent visitors are from neighbouring states with I don't give a damn attitude. Litter everywhere, throw plastic plastic bags, bottles. Thanks to you guys, one of the beautiful view point on top of talacavery is closed because tourist come here to drink alcohol and create nuisance. Shame on u guys. When there is flood no one wants to help however u guys want heavy rainfall in coorg so that u people can enjoy holy water for all your needs. Disgrace to mankind..

This place is considered as the birthplace of river Cauvery, visited recently in June with colleagues. The place is chilly and always rainy, you should bring raincoats, umbrellas won't help. You will hear continuously chimes and chanting priests. It appears as if clouds have covered this place. It was a nice experience.

Astonishing weather in the month of June. In winter its full of fog and couldn't able to see nearby things, it was a wonderful experience for me and my family. The birth of Kaveri river and you could offer your prayer to Lord Shiva and Goddess Amman. If get a chance means make a visit here to get delighted :)

Everyone should see this place atleast one time in their life span.
The Kaveri river here starts in a 2 feet by 2 feet box typed very deep silented place.
Then it flows in lightning speed.
In the mist created by the water is a amazing one.

Good place to visit in Talacauvery. There is an old temple here. Where Cauvery river starts. Its a holy water for Hindus. We worship here. The peak of this place is good. We can find greenary everywhere. But we can't go around because its too risky. We have to sit or stand and watch the surrounding. The peak place don't have any seats to sit. There are stones and its muddy. Difficult to sit and watch the nature. If we come early in the morning we can see full fog here. Its really feels good.

Very close to the birth place of river Cauvery, the Talacauvery national park is in the thick of the Talacauvery sub-cluster of Western Ghats. This untouched area is home to tropical evergreen trees that are many a decade old. Trekking options are good to explore.

Distance from:
Bangalore: 300 km
Mysore: 165 km
Best time to visit: November to April
