Known to be another great temple. Had a glimpse of the presiding deity on 27-01-2024. Due to heavy crowds and other plans to return to hometown Chennai I had to take a darshan from the entry point. Had a good glimpse of the Lord. Hope to come again by the lords grace and seek blessings.

Best place to wish and get granted your needs.
Customs in the temple is pray first related to all issues baby, marriage, education, jobs, any other wish..first pray and then take a miniature clay model of your wish from near by stores located inside the temple.
Then give God the miniature model of the wish and thank him for the wish.
Believe in this God and your wish will be granted for sure.
My wish came true and really lucky that God is hearing to my needs.

Auspicious temple. There is lunch served in the afternoon 1pm. Take the Surya temple road when you enter Ujire town from Mangalore turn left opposite of Dharmasthala temple main gate. Google shows other roads which are narrow and curvy.

It is a great temple with nice green forests all around. serene and peaceful temple..
Lot of devotees come here because of the prayers are answered by the Lord. After that we could seeany devotees coming here to.fulfill their vows .ie., clay miniature s to be given to the lord. The place is just few kilometres from ujire. The temple is situated bit outside the city but the roads are really good. There are many shortcuts that take you to the temple, if you follow Google map. Take the one that has tar road and do not use any other shortcut if you are driving by car.

Located in Dakshina kannada, it has a unique tradition of clay offerings, the place is 1200 years old and the god is also called sadashiva rudra.

First people should go to the open temple on the right side of the main temple, and one can find shiva in the form of linga in the mid of greenery surrounded by clay offerings.

Make a wish with pure heart and then move to the main temple, worship there and come back with hope.

After the wish is fulfilled , one has to go to the main temple , buy 1 kg rice and clay toy related to the wish (eg, if wished for a kid, buy a baby toy, or education , buy a book and pen etc ) and offer the same to the god.

Again this process can be started, of making wishes.

I don't know how far is it true, but for me personally, my wish was fulfilled.
Parking space is available, washroom also available.

Surya Sadasiva rudra gudi is One of the oldest temple of Surya Bhagavan. This is located in Dakshina Karnataka in some Nada Village.

Apart from temple we have a place here called as NagaBana not sure if i correctly translated from Kannada. This place is something mysterious and only gents are allowed upside no ladies are allowed. It is believed that snakes come here every day and listen to devotee wishes to fulfil them. I felt this thing a bit mysterious.

People put stones one above the other and form in a building shape here

Great to visit this temple

One of the best places of Dakshina Kannada. This temple has its own value. U will surely love this place. Mainly U will see surya deva and there is also Nagabana which is allowed only for males. People say that if u have any favour u can fulfill it by getting respective models of it made of sand kept there

Very powerful temple. One can pray to the god of their any needs and later once fulfilled they can offer the article of mud. Example: if marriage is not happening then pray to God as once marriage is done will offer the bride and groom of mud to God.

There is an interesting legend as to how the place got the name “SURYA”. Once upon a time, a woman was chopping grass with her son, when she hit a stone. Blood started oozing out from the stone she had hit. Afraid at seeing blood from the stone, the woman cried out “SUREYA” to her son. After the incident the place was named SUREYA, which gradually became “SURIYA” and finally “SURYA” as called now

I'm not a devotee. But here I made a prayer a few years ago and now it is fulfilled. I just wondered about this. I hope this place has some super power. If you made a wish and when it is fulfilled you have to submit a clay model to the temple. Located near to Ujire town.

It's an old temple which is very popular among the local crowds. It's located quiet in the interior and is a very peaceful place.
There are share taxis available from Dharmasthala which charge ₹100/- head for to & fro which makes it very convenient. While returning there is a stop at Shri Ram Mandir too!

Highly recommended place in and around Dharmasthala. There is a saying, pray for what you want and eventually this god blesses you with it. There are procedures to be done. Follow it, you might feel the same.

The Surya Temple is probably only one of its kind because of its unique tradition of clay offerings which symbolizes man's Earthly desires. The devotees along with their clay offerings have to go to the temple preferably on Mondays along with a coconut and a kg of rice. After a thorough examination of the idol the priest accepts the offerings on behalf of God. All the offerings are placed in a circular shaped pile near the temple which consists clay models of Children, cradles, limbs, houses, automobiles, coconuts, cattle, bullock carts, snakes, tortoise, eyes, ears etc...

According to Mr.Laurie Honko, world-famous folklore expert from Finland the present age of the temple can be roughly guessed as about 1200 years with the help of his analysis and also with the guidance of folk literature.

This small temple located in a remote village of Dakshina Kannada District was little known, until a special news report aired by a local news channel highlighted the religious importance and sanctity of this place. Whereas many devotional places have expensive offerings being specified by the temples and the priests, you can impress this god by just offering a structure made of clay, in return to fulfilling your wishes. The clay structures to be offered once your wishes are fulfilled and what other than the actual clay offerings made by devotees lying in the temple, can give you the evidence of sanctity of this deity. You can make a wish either by visiting the temple or sitting at your home. Once your wishes are fulfilled, all you need to offer is a small idol or doll made of clay that replicates or represents what you wished for. For instance, if you wish for a child, you can offer the replica of a cradle or the small doll that represents the child.

One can find thousands of tiny clay idols and structures being offered to god lying near a small place near the temple, which is believed to be the original place where lord Sadashiva Rudra appeared and blessed his devotees.

There are replicas of multistory buildings, cows and calves, cradle, couple, cars, currency notes, even computers and gadgets lying, which are offered by devotees, whose wishes are fulfilled.
