Asherigad Fort Trek

Visited in dec 23. Solo. The trail is well marked. Did not find much crowd (can get crowded in monsoons) asherigad fort has 20 plus attractions/ landmarks which you should try and see if you have trekked all the way up. Most are missed either for lack of time, lack of knowledge or inaccessibility in monsoons (1) Asheri devi mandir (2) 3 cannons kept besides this mandir (3) 2 Talavs. If u zoom map , it’s marked. It’s on left side after the mandir (4) 5 water tanks on north west side . These would come on downward trail before the mandir.. be careful ❗ when u go in monsoon. It’s at the edge. They have made a border fence too (6) on south east side and near the fort entrance you can find 10. /12 more water tanks on google maps. Sone close to edge & not easily found (7) fort ruin , (sadar) check marked white board for same. It has stone chair and lot many carved rocks. There are 2 such collections. The 2nd one is ahead of where stone chair is. This you will find on north side after talav (8) summit flag with view of Ahmedabad mumbai highway (9) fort entrance (10) water channel cut out on the mountain perhaps to move water around the fort. (14) cave besides wood dev mandir. Small one. It’s dirty. Only if well lit up go in. The trail is marked with stone path. There are arrow markings on trees or on banner. In case you going in monsoon follow the water streams and stone path. Dogs can be good guide as well. The trail takes 2 hours to reach top. Post that give at least 2 hours to explore at top. There is no fresh water or food stall at the top you can easily camp ⛺ at the top. Carry water cleaning tablets so u can drink tank water. Do not litter. Don’t play loud music. Don’t mark the ruins and monuments with your names. The base village has 1 shop where you can pre book ur lunch else they give tea and basic snacks overall better and rich trek if you want to see fort ruins and architecture of old times. Views are mesmerising too.

Medium difficulty Trek for beginners, visited in Sept first week. Lush green carpet, mesmerising views, we were on top of the clouds.

Asheri gadh Asheri is a fort located 102 km from Mumbai and 88 km from Thane. It is in Palghar district, of Maharashtra. This fort is an important fort in Palghar district. The fort is located on the hills near Mendhavan Khind on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. The base village Khodkona is a very small tribal village. The Fort restoration is done by the local villagers.

It's Easy trek, beginners can easily climb. It takes 1 n half to 2 hrs to climb. Asheri devi temple at top of the mountain. From the peak point u will see the beautiful view of the highway and the surrounding mountain range. Must visit in monsoon to see the clouds😍😍it's very peaceful, Feels like You are in Heaven.
