The Hidden Valley - Homestay in Chikmagalur

A perfect stay to escape from the city bustle with a lot of serene views. The place is literally a hidden valley. There is a vast coffee plantation to explore and also open space for the kids to play. There are 2 kinds of rooms, one attached to the main building and the dining area and the other one slight away. The rooms and food were awesome. Hot water for bathing is available which will make you feel relaxed. There are a variety of breakfast served and meals also had a good amount of veg and non veg options. Campfire is set just before dinner. Check-in and check-out is just so easy. The staff is very friendly too. It's a pet friendly place. The last leg of the road is a little humpy but it's worth visiting. Highly recommended..

Found this place online as one of the pet friendly resorts in Chikmagalur. Our stay was lovely. The resort is well maintained and gave us a nature rich experience. Right from the beginning, the team made us feel welcome and diligently took care of us, may it be booking of the right kind of rooms upto seeing us off on the last day. Just back from chikmanglur, had an amazing stay at The Hidden valley resort. This place is truly a hidden treasure, worth exploring view is beautiful from this place, particularly the boat ride at their small lake in their property itself has made this place memorable for the kids. The rooms were neat and clean, took me back to Malgudi days. Service was prompt. The hotel staff, Mr Sooraj, Mr Arun were very warm, helpful , and gave suggestions to visit spots around the place. Food was delicious, served hot and moreover they asked us for our choice of food too. And the bonfire made it all. Looking forward to visit the place again

I chanced upon this wonderful stay while looking for a pet-friendly accommodation, and I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised before! The Hidden Valley is gorgeous and beautifully maintained — the view from the main seating deck is lovely, and it’s an ideal place to curl up on an armchair with a book. The nightly bonfires are a great way to keep warm, and it’s great fun to watch their dogs, Jackie and Lucky, running around. The rooms are simple but very spacious, you can easily fit a whole family into one room. I spent most of my day outdoors so no major complaints with the rooms.

The Hidden Valley is an *excellent* option for a solo woman traveller, I felt extremely safe and comfortable. Probably one of my favourite aspects of this stay was the staff — Mr. Gautham and Mr. Raj are very courteous, attentive, respectful and incredibly kind. I had rescued a sick stray pup, and they did everything they could to make sure the puppy was comfortable and well taken care of :) So grateful to have met them. And Mr. Raj is a great cook, I’m usually a vegetarian but I made an exception for his delicious chicken curry.

We had a comfortable stay at the homestay...lovely view of the water body from the dining area. The paddle boat was fun for kids..Rooms are clean and spacious. They managed to make non spicy food for kids which was much appreciated. Good home cooked food...

Set in a 30 acre estate, this resort is perfect for people wanting to get away from the clamorous city life.

This pet-friendly resort is perfect for a family vacation. We had visited this resort along with our pet - a Golden Retriever - and were welcomed by their very friendly dogs (two) and a cat - besides Alan and the care-taker Gowtham :-).

Boating in their lake and going for walks in their estate were extremely relaxing. Good food added to the experience. We would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the very affable and helpful care-taker Gowtham.

If it's not too difficult, the owners may kindly consider adding a few more outdoor activities for kids.

This hidden gem is a pet friendly retreat like no other we’ve been to so far. This homestay nestled in the wilderness is a perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. If you want to spend some peaceful, quiet time in the lap of Mother Nature & rejuvenate, this is the perfect place for you. The homestay is located at just a 5 hour drive from Bangalore. Enjoy some delicious local cuisine amidst the sound of birds chirping, while enjoying gushes of such pure air. The homestay has 2 adorable, super friendly resident dogs named Lucky & Jackie. They also have 2 cats, several roosters, rabbits & ducks. All these animals are taken care of so well by the staff & are living a cage free, flourishing life 🥹 The biggest charm is the gorgeous, small, private lake inside the homestay. We cannot wait to revisit 🫶🏻

Lives up to its name as it is really hidden.once you reach the home stay, a breathtaking sight beholds you. Nicely done up rooms overlooking a lake with great variety of flora and fauna. The property is maintained very well and the staff is very accommodating. The owner Mr Henry and his wife took extra intrest to make sure that our stay was comfortable. We were a batch of 19 adults and five kids and we're pampered by a decent spread three times a day. Walk in the coffee estate were really relaxing.
An ideal getaway for family get togethers..

Visited it last weekend with my office colleagues. The place is a small cozy homestay but doesnt feel small given the pond with boating facilities and nice big area for the bonefire. Cottages are comfortable. Food was something we made us look forward to the next meal. Special shout out to the our host and manager Mr Gowtham. He was really great on hospitality and always willing to help with whatever we requested for. The pets Jacky and Lucky also add to the charm of the place. A point to note for any one who reads this review. Try to reach the place before it gets dark as its tucked inside the plantation and with mud road which might pose a bit of challenge for hatchbacks in dark. Otherwise during day it shouldnt be an issue at all.

Beautiful calm place, excellent hospitality, non spicy - kid friendly meals, pet friendly. Special mention about the care taker Gowtham, he was always smiling and enthusiastic, catering to all the needs of the guest. Would recommend to anyone who needs a break from the hustle bustle of city life.

Beautiful place with a first class hospitality. Place is well maintained and very green amidst the forest. They have their coffee plantation and black pepper... Gautham was the caretaker there and did the best. Good weekend getaway.

Place is awesome. Caretaker Gowtham is very friendly and supportive. Food is also very good for the price. If you are looking just to chill out, one of best places near Chikmagalur for sure.

We've been going to the Hidden Valley Homestay for 10 years every Diwali with our dog. He's afraid of crackers and this place is the perfect retreat to avoid them. The staff are amazingly helpful and the food is superb. They cater to your taste and needs. It's a lovely getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Do visit this place if you want peace and tranquility.

This place is heaven on the Earth. We loved our stay. Specially my kid, loved boating, fishing and animals around like goose,dogs,rabbit etc. They have games like badminton, caroom, ludo, snakes and ladders, cricket... you don't feel boring at all. The location is awesome. Coming to food it was really a perfect south Indian food, served hot and on neatly arranged table. I enjoyed food, though not very suitable for north Indian who love spicy food and gravies. They served sweet afternoon as well as night which was very tasty. A very pleasant and very good experience. Must visit place...

The Hidden Valley is truly a beautiful hidden place on the outskirts of Chikmagalur.

Pros:
1. Beautiful Homestay
2. Service is too good. People are friendly, approachable and very helpful especially Noushad and Suraj
3. Pet friendly place and they also help with pet food. They also have a very friendly dog Lucky, rabbits, ducks and hens on the property which gives pets and kids a very connected and enjoyable feeling . My pet really enjoyed this stay.
4. The Homestay includes amenities at no additional cost like boating, plantation tour, indoor and outdoor games, tree house, relaxing on swings, bonfire and barbecue ( though these two could not be arranged as it was raining at night) unlike other Homestay who usually charge additionally for same.
5. Food quality was very good.
6. Water taste is good and there is no wastage.
7. Owner of the place Mr.Henry is very accommodating and helpful. He helped take special request for celebrating my husbands birthday.

Cons:
1. Approach road is kaccha (non-tar/mud ) road which was quite marshy due to the rains.
2. Location is suitable if you wish to stay in resort and completely unwind but it is far off from sightseeing points.
