Itarsi railway station

One of the biggest railway station of India from where you can get trains to various locations. I boarded to my train from Pratapgarh Junction to Itarsi junction and then from Itarsi Junction in Madhya Pradesh to Ernakulum Junction railway station in Kerala for my Indian coast guard GD Stage 2 Exams on 11 January 2024. Itarsi Junction has as many as over 10 platform numbers. When I reached Itarsi junction then there was cold environment but in reaching Kerala it gets warmer weather☀

It was very nice experience with the station in terms of everything. It was a very pleasant experience from police forces,very less to find. We are very much thankful to him.
The AC waits room is small but very good and clean with toilet inside. It is on platform No. 1. There is elevator for sr. Citizens to go up the stairs.

Railway Station!! Where many people from different places are reaching out and traveling, I think rail travel is the best trip yet.. Because, you see different people with a different religion, where somebody can be nice and chatty and usually most of them were introverted to enjoy their own trip.. While traveling for 23 Hours each stop , each station that lasts for a long time ,changing state to state I saw different people with different kind of perspective.. But anyway everything is fantastic.. I want to explore more and more.. ;)

Good railway station and so big because it provides three routes of travel in other states, so it is not common station it's junction of trains. This place near by city and market and available more than facilities to you need and important for you in a travel

Itarsi railway station is Junction it's very famous & well known Junction. From here you can catch train for new delhi, Mumbai, gujarat, west bengal, rajsthan, aagra, mathura, gwalior, Lucknow, kanpur, ujjain, Varanasi, uttar pradesh, bhopal, jhansi, chennai, tamilnadu, tirupati, maihar, satna, katni, jabalpur, prayagraj, patna, gaya, jharkhand etc. It is 8th busiest railway Junction in India from here around 420 train pass every day. It is one of the most important junction stations, behind Mughalsarai Junction railway station and Nagpur Junction & most important this stations in madhya pradesh. As per current political parties (bjp) lots of development on going in here. In here you have so much options for staying bcoz near by station so many hotels & restaurants also situated where you will get so many options in food both veg & non veg. As per my point of view this is my favorite Junction...

Yes i was here now only . I am going to Mumbai from here , now I m in platform number 7 .. there are total 7 platform... The service of food is good . Platform is also in good condition and hygiene there is waiting room also ... Overall this is good

Some historical data of itarsi.
On 17 June 2015, there was a fire incident on Itarsi Junction involving signal control system resulting in extensive damage to route relay interlocking system (RRI). This resulted in trains being stranded at the station other trains heading towards station being cancelled or diverted. Initially the extent of damage was considered small, but subsequent inspection post fire control found RRI in ashes, beyond repair. A deadline was set to commission new RRI in 35 days. 78 trains were cancelled and 23 diverted by second day alone.Thirty four days disruption resulted in cancellation of 2,044 trains, diversion of 249 trains and short termination of 17 trains. The new RRI installation was completed on 21 July at a cost of Rs. 19.64 cr. Complete normalcy was restored by 26 July 2015.

Gyspy will drop you on the entrance gate. You have to walk for 1km some straight track and around 500 stairs going down to jatashankar temple. If you really want to enjoy then hire a guide for 100Rs on the entry gate. On the way you will find lot of small shops selling herbal and Ayurvedic products. We bought natural honey.
