Rih Dil

A place from another world.
It is a serene lake located amidst lush green hills, surrounded by paddy fields.
It has only one boat which charges INR 500/- and takes a 30 min round in the lake.
There is one small restaurant at its banks where decent and reasonable food is available.
It is around 4 km from Indo-Burma border (Zokhawthar).

Beautiful and nice place. No noise, peaceful environment. But some people makes the outside very dirty

In Mizo traditional religion, all the spirits of dead pass through this lake on their way to pialral (heaven like) or mitthi khua (underworld)

Beautiful place on border of Manipur and Myanmar. You can catch a sumo from Champhai and go to Zokhtawar. From here you'll have to catch a bike till Ri Dil lake.

Remember, the road to lake in Indian side is very bad. Make sure that you keep yourself safe.

Rih Dïl, also known as Rih Li is a beautiful heart-shaped lake that is located 22 km inside Myanmar. The lake is approximately one mile in length and half a mile in width. This lake is believed to be the passage to heaven for the souls of the dead. A strange feature of the lake is that its South West floor happens to be deeper than the north-west and that it gets deep abruptly immediately after the edge of the water.

There are several folktales which surround this amazing and picturesque lake. Ril Dïl is a rarely visited place even today because of the difficulty to access this region. Yet, public bus facility has been provided from the Indo-Myanmar gate which will take you to the Rih. One can also get permission to visit the lake from the Deputy Commissioner's office at Champhai.
