This Gurudwara Sahib is built on the place where Chote Sahibzade (02 younger children) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji were bricked alive by subedar of sirhind wazir khan for not accepting Islam and to take revenge from Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
This is the same place which is considered as the most expensive piece of land which was bought by Deewan Todar Mal Ji by covering the land with gold coins in standing position to perform the last rites of Chote Sahibzade and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji.
Every Sikh should visit here once in the lifetime to bow before the sacrifices of the family of Guru Gobind Singh Ji 🙏

Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib marks the site of where the two young sons of Guru Gobind Singh were bricked alive, tortured and beheaded. The actual site is located in the Bhora Sahib which is underneath Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.

Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, with affiliated Gurdwaras, is administered directly by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. In addition to the daily programme of morning and evening services and kirtan, largely attended assemblies are held on the first of each Bikrami month. The most notable event of the year is a fair, popularly known as Sabha, held on 11th, 12th and 13th of Poh, which falls during the last week of December, to commemorate the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji along with Jagat Mata Gujri Ji.

The Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib is located at Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab which is approximately 39 Km away from Mohali district,in north-west of India 🇮🇳. The place is worldwide known for the greatest martyrdom of two younger sons (Sahibzade) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaaj who were bricked alive by then Subha Sirhind Wazir khan in 1704. At the younger age of 7 and 9 Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Jorawar Singh did not bow down before the court of Wazir Khan, they were lured by various things so that they could accept Islam, However, Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Jorawar Singh were remained in Chardikala of Akaal Purakh Waheguru.
During the war with Aurangzeb, Guru Sahib- Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaaj had to vacate the Quila Sri Anandpur Sahib, during that time the family of Guru Sahib was separated from him. The two younger sons Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Jorawar Singh along with Mata Gujri ji (Mother of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Mahraaj) were moved toward Sirhind with their trusted cook Gangu. Mata Gujri ji had some money with her, On the way the Cook Gangu’s mind got corrupt and wanted to have all the money in possession of Mata Gujri ji. He informed Subha Sirhind Wazir Khan about the presence of Two Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri ji. They were caught by Wazir Khan, When he (Subha Sirhind) failed to embrace them to accept Islam, he bricked alive two sahibzadas to martyrdom, upon came to know about the great martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Jorawar Singh, Mata Gujri ji who was kept hold on bare cold floor on top of the building collapsed. (Gurudwara Thanda Buraz is located on this place)
The Subha Sirhind was so cruel.
Sri Toddar Mal ji who was then affluent business had to pay whopping amount in gold coins (the value of that amount can not be counted or estimated) to purchase a piece of land for the cremation of sahibzadas. (The place where Gurudwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Is is located)… when I entered this sacred place, the feeling I felt can not express in words …. One and only word which is chanted that is Waheguru …Waheguru….

Historical Significance of Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib

It started from the Sikhs resisting the forced conversions to Islam under the Mughals. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was publicly beheaded in Delhi in 1675 on Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s orders for refusing to convert to Islam.
Mata Gujri (1624 -1705) (whose formal name was 'Mata Gujar Kaur') was the wife of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur; the mother of the tenth and last human Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, and the grandmother of the four Sahibzade.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave up everything to uplift humanity. The Guru's young sons and elderly mother laid down their lives in order to uproot the cruel Mughal regime and alleviate the suffering of the downtrodden population. The ruthless and depraved governer Wazir Khan mercilessly tortured and executed Mata Gujjar Kaur Ji, alongside the beloved younger Sahibzaday; Baba Zorawar Singh Ji (Age 9) and Baba Fateh Singh Ji (Age 7). The saintly mother and precious sons of the guru were kept in the most inhumane conditions. The government relentlessly attempted to break their resolve using tactics such as torture and bribery. Yet no amount of torment could shake the immense faith and unwavering courage of the young princes. Ultimately, the younger sahibzaday were sentenced to execution. They were to be suffocated to death by having brick wall built around them.
At this place once stood the court of Wazir Khan. It was here, in December 1704, that the Sahibzaday were summoned in order to coerce them into abandoning their faith and bowing before the cruel regime. The kind and gentle young sons of the Guru stood tall and refused to give iin to the government's tyrannical demands. The prices were bribed with riches and promised government positions. When this did not work, their innocent bodies were tortured relentlessly. The Sahibzaday endured this anguish yet refused to bow before cruelty. It is here that the sentence of the sahibzaday was announced. The bricks have been preserved and the throne of Guru Granth Sahib Ji blesses this most sacred place.
