NTPC LARA

NTPC Lara  is a coal-fired power project located near village Lara, Chhpora(Post),Raigarh,Chhattisgarh.The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of  NTPC. The coal requirement will be obtained from Talaipalli coal block Mand Raigarh coalfield and water requirement will be sourced from Mahanadi River through Saradih Barrage.

It is a very nice place.
township is very good.
Food available at canteen is also very good and at very low cost.
You should take helmet with you as security may stop you from entering the premises.
Taking items inside premises may also be difficult if u do not have proper documents for that.

Situated at Chhatishgarh and Odisha border, NTPC Lara project have 800 MW unit capacity boiler.Total capacity of Lara is 4000 MW. NTPC is rewarded for best place to work for several times. Great place. Great environment.

NTPC Lara is situated at border of orissa..Nearby airport is "jharsugda Airport" which is approx 80 Km far from here, Nearest Railway station is " Raigarh Railway station" which is approx 20 Km far from here. ICH (indian coffey house) is available inside and outside the plant for taking lunch and dinner. You can have the meal at very minimal price range, quality of food will not be an issue. Nearest town is Pussore and Kanaktura. As 4000 MW to be set up here, its a great learning opportunity for newcomers and experienced personnel...Accomodation is very cheap nearby due to not fully developed...I hope this information can help you prior to explore NTPC lara site.

NTPC Lara is located about 25 kms away from Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh which is close to Odisha Boarder. It used to be a remote and ignorant place and the only development people had seen was Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak here and there and Electrification of villages which was also like dream come true. Traditional way of agriculture, mostly paddy craft without any irrigation facility was the only way of making livlihood in this area but now with the coming up of a large NTPC Project has changed the life style of the people around. This area is going to be the second largest Power Hub of Chhattisgarh after Korba. With a large intigrated Steel Plant (JSPL) at Raigarh and a considerable no. of auxiliary units around, Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh now is an Industrial Hub in itself.

NTPC Lara owned by Maharatna company NTPC with capacity of 2x800MW is located near village Chappora, tehsil Pussore, One unit is doing generation and second unit is in Erection & Commissioning stage .
