The restaurant is awesome 😎😎. The ambience just takes us back to our chemeen movie era😁. The food was fantastic 😋 and 💯 for the service. The staff's are well mannered and tell us minute details about the dishes. It can be a little pricey but worth the food and ambience. Highly recommended.

Great place for authentic Kerala style food. The space can feel a little cramped if you have a lot of people with you. But the food is great. Good portion size, sea food is the highlight.

Super tasty food and this is our second visit to the restaurant. This time we ordered chemmen kizhi, chicken in uri, parotta, kallappam, passion fruit mojito, pappys sedation. All were good but Kallappam is really amazing.

Menu and presentation is cool - pappy’s sedation, pappy’s icu and similar names…

Ambience is interesting with old movie posters and lamps. They do have limited parking. It’s always crowded but not difficult to find a table.

Service is top notch, food good and great ambiance. Really wonderful place with good verity food and old vibes with good old Malayalam cinema posters accompanied by music which really sets us back to the 90s . Well maintained and clean and has all the touches of traditional shap of Kerala state, good verity of food options from beef , chicken fish duck missing the pork which shaps are usually famous for . The grilled fish is a treat for eyes and mouth as we can select the choice of fish. Overall really one of the kind experience , would highly recommend to visit the place if you’re travelling near by 💯

The ambience and taste of the food is true to its theme of Shap. It has friendly staff and quick service. Minnal chicken entry is a spectacle, watch for it. Overall a must try if you love moderately spicy authentic kerala food. Kizhi Parotta is recommended.

We have traveled a lot and tried cuisines across many countries we came from Mysore to calicut and were recommended by our hotel to try this restaurant ....I can confidently say that it is one of the best restaurants ever....Great food...Mr.Ramkumar was so patiently and passionately explaining the story behind each dish...he will surely be very successful and wish him all the best....we all went back very happy and want to come back

Such an amazing experience!! What an ambience! Typical 80’s. Enjoyed the food also. So much varieties.

Really great food and service. The waiter explains really nicely. Also suggests other food. Tasted squid for the first time, it was very nice!

First of all the service was excellent. The staff explained about most of the foods there, and let us chose our food. The atmosphere was also superb. And finally the food, it was really good and tasteful. Not at all over spicey. We had chicken fry and their "gooseberry mango fish curry". The balance of spices were on point. Overall a wonderful exoerience.

What an unique way for serving food and most importantly staff.
Legacy and theme of restaurant is lived by all the staff all the times. Adding few Vegetarian menu will be a great for your development.

Loved everything about The Shap. It was our first visit to this place and we had witnessed a charismatic gentleman named Anandu who worked there as staff and provided an excellent service with his presentation of Mango -Jackfruit - Coconut juice. I'm surprised that he has been with the restaurant since 7 months, and he had excellent customer engagement skills like a professional. Also thanks is extended towards our steward Jobi. He explained in detail various dishes available at the time of our visit. It allowed us to order the best and complementing dishes. Lovely ambience and interiors. They even had a creative way of bringing nostalgia by means of an old newspaper dating back to 1984, that was a coaster in disguise. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Awesome is a small word for this place....it's beyond imagination and creativity. This place has made us believe that reliving our traditional times is always healthy and tasty. Paapi made us fall in love of food again n again. Presentation of delicious food has added more taste to it...amazing service, beautiful ambience..

Excellent food. Definitely fine dining. It can be expensive but worth it. The staff truly cares about your experience. 10/10 for their Serving Quality. Must Visit and highly recommended.
