Jaysamand Lake is India's first and world's oldest historical and second largest artificial fresh water lake in India. It is located in the Udaipur District of Rajasthan State in western India. There is a beautiful garden and temple of lord Shiva.According to my opinion this is a very good place for 2-3hr picnic spot.

I recently visited Jaisamand Lake and was blown away by its natural beauty and serene surroundings. The lake is one of the largest artificial lakes in India and is located amidst the Aravalli mountain range. The water is crystal clear and the lush green hills surrounding the lake make for a picturesque view. There are various activities available at the lake, including boat rides, fishing, and camping. The lake is also home to a large number of migratory birds, making it a great place for bird watching. The Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary, located nearby, is another must-visit spot for nature lovers. Overall, Jaisamand Lake is a perfect destination for anyone who wants to unwind and relax in the lap of nature. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful lake to experience its stunning beauty and peaceful surroundings.

It is said to be Asia's largest lake. I enjoyed the glimpse of the ocean when riding the boat as you will see endless water everywhere. Its water is supplied to Udaipur and you will love the scenic view in the morning and the evening hours. You can travel via bus or hire a taxi to visit here. Fish pakora in the outside market tastes great and the pavement of the lake has its architectural importance.

A serene and calm lake! Must visit in Udaipur! Refreshing and fun to be here, with boat ride options, garden with lovely flowers and shade of the trees to take pleasure of, and the monkeys/langoors all around minding their own business. Nominal entry fee of 10/
I love how neat and clean it was unlike so many tourist spots in some cities. Found a fresh fish fry stall jst a few mtrs from the lake towards village road-under a pleasant set up by the jheel, pls try if u find it..

Place is awesome, boat ride is nominal charged and offer vast view of the lake. I would recomend to take ride once. their is a nominal charge for entering pal which is good move as it helps maintainance of the place, their is park area alongside pal which is good also their is small play area for kids, also we can enjoy a snack or two their only if you are experienced of handling langoor and dogs sitting near you and eaiting for your mistake, i like dogs so i let few of them sit near me which helped in keeping langoors away from me. 💯
Highly recomended weekend get away place.

The entry fees is just 10rs and the view is totally amazing. The road to get there is carved through mountains so it has a lot of sharp turns but it's all worth it when you reach the place. The scenic beauty there, the lake, forts everything here is just amazing. It offers boat ride and also has a beautiful garden. The place starts getting empty by 6:00pm so if you aren't with a group make sure to leave before it gets dark as the place doesn't seem safe for solo travelers after dark.

Such a worthwhile place to visit. The Lake is a site of beauty. In my opinion the best Time to visit this place is in early morning. The atmosphere around here at that time is so relaxing and enjoyable.

After seeing this you'll realise why Udaipur is called the city of Lakes.

During Covid times , we were here . It's almost 45 kms drive from Udaipur and to reach here you pass unto beautiful KEWREIN KI NAAL.
There are to spots which serve lemon grass infused tea plus a chappri serving Pakoras and Tea on this beautiful route towards Jaisamand.
Even newly opened Jaisamand Sanctuary is to left on this route.

You can find the place pretty crowded and also monkeys there, so better avoid eatables here.
Now you can take boat ride , which we hired for us, being 6 adults and two kids for Rs. 2000 for 40 minutes ride.

It indeed was very hot so carry caps and water.
Also from here you can go to BABA ISLAND , a very famous island hotel.
They have their own speed boat and own jetty and charge Rs. 420 for a day tour of the said island resort.
We didn't do that , being too hott.

Also you can buy corn n puffs from many local people here to feed fishes.
It's interesting for kids to be here, maintaing social distance is a task here.

On reaching this place, the first thing that hits you is the mesmerizing view of the lake surrounded with mountains. Since its a simple tourist spot, you'll find a few snack corners outside the lake and there are a number of boats lined up to gove you a tour of this beautiful place. Depending upon your interest and time there varioud tour options, the most expensive one costing about 2100-2500 (for a group of 7 adults) for a 1 hour tour around various islands in the lake and also through the Jaisamand Lake Resort.
Distance from Udaipur: 50 Kms (75 min drive)
Places to visit while you're here:
- Palace at the hill top.
- Jungle safari.

You actually get to realize how big the lake is when you take a tour, in my opinion it was "HUGE!" and why not when its the 2nd largest fresh water lake in Asia. A serene and beautiful place to spend time with your family.

This is second largest artificial lake, you can enjoy evening with sunset and beautiful view. You can enjoy boating also. A short journey by car from Udaipur (55 km) and worth the visit. Beautiful scenery and a pretty lake.

Lake in itself is very big, and u have an option to explore a part of it using a boat. But, if you want to have a good view of the entire lake go to the roothi rani mahal (2.5km) from there. PS use 2 wheeler to go there

World's second largest artifical lake after Aswan in Egypt, but not no 2 in beauty for sure, it is an awesome place to visit if you want to see the widelife b3ing protected by waterbody, if you want to drive through some of the greatest. Less explored driveway.

Jaisamand lake has its own history and charm. Best times to visit would be when it's raining. But given the scanty rains Udaipur and it's surrounding get its difficult to catch rains in Jaisamand. Take a boat ride and if you have time. Go to the hava Mahal on the edge of the lake. It's a short hike of 1.7kms. it's got paved way with steps so it's not that difficult. The view from the top is amazing. Please don't litter the place or write on the walls. It's a request.
