We as a family of four took Wagah border tour, cultural tour and Golden temple tour from "City of Pedals".
I must admit that it was one of the best decisions we took to go for these tours via city of pedals, when we visited Amritsar.

Guides : Gurpreet singh and Rabia

They were simply the best. We, having travelled from South of India and visiting Amritsar for the first time, got introduced to lovely
team of City of Pedals who were very welcoming and hospitable, and also explained everything in English.

Gurpreet was with us through out all our tours, and was very knowledgeable, humble and took care of us so nicely, and he even
managed to engage my usually reserved daughter.
He was very patient and explained us everything about Sikhism and Punjabi culture and people, which was very enlightening.
I have taken many private tours before and met many guides, but never met such a nice human being like Gurpreet.
He even accompanied us to the village tour and patiently tied turban on my head, and i never felt like removing it :-)

Rabia was our guide for the Wagah border tour, and guided us right through nicely.
She managed to get the VIP passes for all of us, and made sure we were all taken care nicely.
She took my wife and daughters for the song and dance show that happened before the retreat ceremony, and they absolutely loved it.
She also recommended us the places to shop and dine, which was very much appreciated.

Overall, we had great time with the "city of pedals" team, and i would highly recommend anyone visiting Amritsar to take their tours if other guides
are as good as Gurpreet and Rabia.

We took 3 tours with Sam from City on Pedals in our 2 days in Amritsar. We took the walking food tour, the Golden Temple tour, and the Village tour. All 3 were more than we could have expected! The food we tried on the food tour was delicious and we learned a lot about the city between stops. The Golden Temple tour was very informative and essential to our understanding of the temple’s significance. And the Village tour should be on every Amritsar visitor’s agenda. It’s an experience you just can’t get if you stay within the city. We met some of the kindest people, saw the beautiful agricultural side of the region, and had a delicious, home cooked lunch. We would recommend City on Pedals to everyone who visits Amritsar!

I stayed with City on Pedals during my two day visit to Amritsar. The place is very cozy, and the location is amazing. It has a lot of food options around it. Apart from staying there, I also went around the city with Rishabh, and it was amazing. The knowledge he has about the city is amazing, and I was awed because I'd never thought of Amritsar beyond the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Attari Border. Even Rabia is great travel companion, loved hanging out with her! And now that they have a rooftop cafe, I'm looking forward to visiting them again even more.
PS. The highlight of my stay at City on Pedals were definitely Horsey & Tikka (the hostel pets).

A cute place which gives you at home feeling. The rooms are nicely done and neat and clean. The common area is a chill out place where you can have a heart full conversation with the fellow travelers over a cup of coffee which the owner gladly makes for you. The nights are great with barbeque on their rooftop garden with soothing music and a lot of laughter. Iwas lucky to have gone on lohri where we celebrated it in true punjabi style. Their tours are amazing and the tour guide is one gem of a person. They take you to the hidden nook and corners of the city where you witness the history in its raw form. Also, do not forget to eat the lip smacking food on their food trail. Would definitely recommend!!

Me and my friends had a great time on the Village Tour and Food Tour in one day.
The Amritsar village tour starts at 5am and we went to a nearby farm, close to Pakistan border. We did a tractor ride, made roti on chulha and milked the cows, which was a lot of fun for us. The village host family was very kind and made us a delicious breakfast. We also danced and they made us wear traditional Punjabi clothes.
Later in the evening, we did the Amritsar food tour on bicycles. The food places we went to were sometimes very close to the hustling streets, yet hidden in some corners. It was a little daunting in the beginning but the route they took us to was very safe and easy. Amritsar street food was very delicious - tea time snacks, pakode, aam papad, gol gappe, soya, jalebi, baby gulab jamun were some of the delicious items we tried. The traditional dinner thali was very tasty.
Me and my friends had a great time on pedals with the team. The staff is very kind and humble. Kudos to them for this amazing job.

City On Pedals is a cosy, colourful, safe and well organised hostel that will surely make your stay in Amritsar an exciting and memorable experience. The staff and the owner are warm, always smiling and ready to sing, dance, party and have fun! My Lohri weekend here wouldn't have been special without them.
The dorms here are spacious, clean and comfortable. The common room and rooftop are spots where you will find fellow travelers hanging out, sharing their stories and experiences. The ambience is homely and peaceful.
The various city tours organised by City On Pedals will take you through the history, culture and architecture of the holy city. They take you to the best places to try the local cuisine, show you around the bustling market streets of the city, tell you unknown historical facts, take you to hidden gems, all-in-all give you the authentic local experience.
If you are travelling to Amritsar and looking for backpacker or budget options to stay, look no further.
I can now happily say I have a family back in Amritsar !!

Exceptional outfit. I did the Wagah Border tour, rural Punjab village experience tour, and the cycling food tour at night; in addition, I agreed to be a guinea pig for a few really off-the-beaten-path Amritsar sites, which did not disappoint. The guides and other staff were excellent, and went out of their way to cater for my needs as a professional travel and portrait photographer. I cannot recommend them enough, and look forward to returning for an extended stay at their brand new hostel. Good luck and keep up the amazing work!

We had a morning visit/tour of the Golden Temple with our guide, Rabia on 30/12/18. It was us, my parents and I and a group of friends travelling from Mumbai. This tour was the best start to our trip to Amritsar as we got to really learn a lot about the culture, history, religion, beliefs and values of the city. Furthermore, our guide Rabia was so different in a sense that she was so connected to the monument and the city itself. She really knows her city well and she really helped us a lot with information about not just the Golden Temple but the city in general. I would definitely recommend this company and their services to every traveler.

I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights in one of their mixed luxury dorms. I totally liked my experience. This hostel also has wifi, common room with tv, and a workstation.
I booked 3 tours with them -mid-night Golden Temple visit, India border tour and bicycle heritage tour. All 3 were amazing. I highly recommend you mid-night Golden Temple tour. The nearby area is also good, you may simply step out of the hostel to try some street food and explore the local market.
5 stars to this one!

Great job with the food tour by city on pedals team

I really appreciate their efforts to design and curate this bicycle food tour. This is a great introduction to the street food of Amritsar, starting for appetizers, snacks, drinks, dinner and sweets. The whole experience was very good and was fun to go to all the places on bicycle. My friends made many videos and took photos of our groups and the delicious food. It is a great activity to be done with friends. Glad to have done it. Even in summers, this was a beautiful experience.

My wife and I took the opportunity to to book 2 tours with City on Pedals. We are normally independent travelers and so this was a bit unusual for us. I have to admit even for a seasoned traveler and with the help of maps and such it was quite difficult to locate the office/guest house. However one we reached the office it could not have been friendlier. Our first trip was to the border crossing at Wagah. Our guide Rabia was excellent and she was very knowledgeable and informative. The whole experience was great.
Our second tour was to the Golden Temple at 04:00 the next morning and a little chilly. Once again our guide Rabia was unbelievably knowledgeable about the history, culture and religious ceremonies at the temple. For both occasions I think it would have been very difficult to have found a better guide.

Never been a hostel person but City On Pedals completely changed my perspective towards hosteling while travelling! The staff is really amazing and would go out of their way to help you. The food at the hostel is lip smacking and the dorms are cosy and clean. They also have two furry babies called horsey and tikka. The hostel premises also has beautifully done common spaces and a terrace where BBQ sessions take place on cold winter evenings!

Besides the hostel, City On Pedals also organises bicycle tours in Amritsar. One could pick a tour from the variety that they have on offer as per the needs. While the heritage tour comprises of visits to the best kept secrets of Amritsar’s heritage structures such as a mosque, a traditional ceremony at Golden Temple and lot more, the food tour will land you in a food coma. From stuffed kulchas to thick lassi’s to piping hot jalebi’s, they have you covered on every local food item!

All in all, city on pedals should be your pick of you look forward to spending your days with crazy like minded travellers!

Excellent value for money. The hostel has a great vibe. Beds and rooms were clean, so were the showers. Hot water available as well. Air conditioning was very good. Staff was chill and easy going. Highly recommended for solo travellers looking for a short stay in Amritsar!

It is hard to explain in few words what this team has created. They have done some phenomenal work with their research in how to provide the best of Amritsar sightseeing places, street food and recommendations for spending an amazing time in Amritsar. We took their Street Food tour, Heritage tour, Wagah Border tour and the Golden Temple tour. Excellent job with creating less traffic routes for the walled city and digging out the best places for food. We took so many pictures, thanks to Aman, Nitin and Rabia. So much fun blowing horns just like locals do. I highly recommend taking their tours if you are visiting Amritsar. It is the best thing to do in Amritsar so far. Thank you guys for the amazing 2 days.

I had amazing trip with them. It was 3rd time to come Amritsar and I realised I did know nothing about Amritsar after travelling with them. They took me masjid, mandir which cannot be find by typical common tourist like me. Of course Golden Temple is must visited place but they taught me the other side of beautyful Amritsar city.
I highly recommend people to trip with them if you want to deeply explore Amritsar!

City on pedals opened up Amritsar in a new way. I have been to the city number of times before but never once saw it the they showed it to me. From their hostel to their well curated tours, every thing was spot on. I especially want to thank Rabia, their tour guide, who had the right passion and drive to show her city like a perfect local. Thank you City on Pedals for every experience and the Lohri festival that we celebrated with you guys as a family! Highly recommend their services!!

Journey that I and my buddies will never forget!!

To end our winter break, I and my friends decided to visit Amritsar but since we were just having 2 days left with us, we wanted to make our journey worth it. I was just going through my facebook feed when I found City on Pedal's video (someone in my network shared it, don't remember exactly). I browsed their website and just left a salutation message on Messenger.
My phone beeped in less than 30 mins. The message was from someone at City on Pedals (ConP). The guy on the other side requested me for my contact number and called me instantly. He talked very generously and helped me plan the trip. I discussed the offer with my friends and we all agreed to book a trip with City on Pedals.

I have heard of Golden Temple, Wagah Border and few other popular places in Amritsar and have been there when I was a kid but this time it was a whole new experience. The ConP team sent us a schedule a day before our trip started.

We woke up early, got ready and grabbed the bikes made available by the ConP. The bikes were in very good condition(almost new). To my excitement, they also provided us protective gear which is pretty uncommon.

As I mentioned this ride was totally different, we spent more of our time exploring places that were totally hidden somewhere behind the modern infrastructure of the city. Places that you see in old punjabi movies, something like that. It was beautiful.

The team informed us beforehand that we will get a chance to have our breakfast on our way and we started our day with Masala Chai at Giani tea stall, one of the oldest tea stall in Amritsar near Railway station. We interacted with locals. It was a great way to start the day.

The ConP team took us to the places that are hard to find on Google, the ones only locals know about. We were guided by Rishabh. He seemed to be quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the tour. Besides answering all our queries and capturing great pictures, he made sure that there was no language barrier between their team and us.

After visiting a couple of places, we stopped by Kundan Dhabha and had some Chole Puri and Lassi. I can still remember the taste. It was so delicious!

Overall, this is what I and my friends acutually wanted. The tour that is unique and worth remembering. The one where you can explore new places. I have been to other tours but most of times guide fake a story to make the place interesting but this time it was totally different. Guides didn't try to create stories or denied our queries. ConP is different from other guides. I mean who in this world provides you wifi on your tour to check with your friends and make sure you are on the right track? Also, idea of leaving early in the morning is great. No scorching heat, no traffic, no horns and no pollution, a perfect time to ride a bike.

If you are planning to visit Amritsar, just make sure you have a look at what City On Pedals has to offer. You will not regret it!!

This was my second visit to Amritsar and I was looking forward to exploring beyond The Golden Temple, Jaliyan Wala Bagh and The Wagah Border. At City On Pedals, I not only had the most comfortable stay, but I also got the opportunity to go for 3 bike tours, exploring the best of everything in Amritsar. Out of all the tours, The Morning Heritage and The Food Night would always remain my favourite.
Hopefully, I'll be back soon for the rest of the bike tours!
