Probably amongst the 1st few muslim black people this town has ever seen, we became the side attraction for the whole town. Went to the Mosque prayed without a cap and i was looked upon don't know if it was good look or bad look. It was an awesome experience for all of us. It is also a good Islamic Institute probably the biggest in Asia

Darul Uloom Deoband was established in 13 May 1866 by Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanotawi and other ulama of his circle. The founders include Haaji Aabid Hussain, Maulana Mehtab Ali and Shaikh Nehal Ahmad (brother-in-law of Maulana Nanotawi).
The school teaches manqulat (revealed Islamic sciences) according to the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence. In this seminar, Nanawtawi instituted modern methods of learning such as teaching in classrooms, a fixed and carefully selected curriculum, lectures by academics who were leaders in their fields, exam periods, merit prizes, and a publishing press. Students were± taught in Urdu, and sometimes in Arabic for theological reasons or Persian, for cultural and literary reasons. The curriculum is based on a highly modified version of the 18th century Indo-Islamic syllabus known as [[Dars-i e-Nizami|Dars-e-Nizami]]. The students learn the Quran and its exegesis; Hadith and its commentary; and juristic rulings with textual and rational proofs. They also study the biography of Muhammad, Arabic grammar, Arabic language and literature, and Persian language.

In India after the dreadful end of Mughal Empire in 1857, the very first Islamic intellectual reformist revolution rose in the North Indian town of Deoband. Hujjatul-Islam al-Imam Muhammad Qasim Nanawtawi established Darul Uloom Deoband on May 30, 1866. Those who helped him in his mission were Haji Aabid Husain and Imam Rabbani Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi and others. At Deoband, Imam Muhammad Qasim Nanawtawi reinstated the great intellectual legacy of Imam Shah Wali-Allah of Delhi. Imam Qasim Nanawtawi’s Darul Uloom Deoband became most prestigious seat of learning in Islamic Religious Sciences in Asia. In 1982 the legacy of Shah Wali-Allah and Imam Muhammad Qasim Nanawtawi was protected by Hakeemul Islam Maulana Qari Mohammad Tayyab (Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband 1929-1983) in form of present Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.

I visited Darul Uloom Deoband Waqf first in 2015. Thereon I have been there so many times. A great seat of learning.

It's a peaceful and better people place. I like this area around Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.
