Hundru Waterfall

Approximately 700 steps to be descended before reaching the waterfall. But the sight after this is totally a treat to the eyes. Must visit if you visit Ranchi.

One of the highest waterfalls in the state of Jharkhand … height is about 322 ft . Near about 750 stairs to reach the fall . Name of the river … Subarnarekha .
The entire atmosphere is very beautiful and views are great . You also get many food and drinks stalls here .
Overall experience is superb .

Awesome place with beautiful nature and lush greenery all around. Like most of the waterfalls near Ranchi,here also you have to go through lots of steps.. but the steps were not too difficult.

The waterfall is absolutely beautiful! You have to step down around 700 steps before you reach the waterfall. Amazing place for picnic, tour, excursion, etc. You have to buy tickets worth ₹10 before entering the waterfall. Timing is between 08:00-05:00(or 04:00). There is a small Mandir just left to the waterfall below a small cave which is led by a narrow path.

Ropeway facility also available, one-way for ₹100 and two-way for ₹ 300.

Food kiosks, small shops selling handmade wooden showpiece are wonderful. Do buy from the hard working local people. P.S: be local, buy local. Be vocal for local!

A request to visitors, PLEASE DO NOT LITTER. BRING BACK YOUR GARBAGE AND DON'T THROW AWAY ANYWHERE. It is our place and we need to keep it clean.
An appeal to Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Jharkhand, please keep the place neat and clean as you are levying tax on parking and visiting.

Though the number of steps are huge but we enjoyed a lot at this place. You may take the opportunity to frame your photo by the local skilled cameramans.

Very beautiful place from entry till exit. Only the stairs which are almost 250-300 are hectic but worth it. All around greenery and various sitting area was available to enjoy the waterfall.
Various shops and stalls are available for chips, biscuits and even naasta and khana.

Come in the morning, so there will be less crowd .
Bathing ,alcohol will be not allowed.

The road leading to Hundru waterfall is very beautiful. On the way Getalsud dam can be seen from far. One can see the river bed from above but to see the waterfall one need to go down through stairs and buy tickets.

Jharkhand is a paradise for all nature lovers. A few days ago, I visited along with my friends to the majestic waterfalls.During the monsoon, the waterfall is at the top of its beauty.The place is idle for picnic and small outing .A zipline for adventure activity is also there, but it's out of order just like the local government. Small food outlets are also present near the waterfall area.

Falls is ok but very far from city. Dassam is better than this

The falls is situated on the watercourse of “Suvarnarekha” river that falls from around 320 feet tall. It takes around 750 stairs right down to reach the foot of Hundru Falls. At the base of the Hundru Falls, there is a pool, which serves as a bathing place. It is very famous picnic spot.

Nice place. Be prepared to climb 800 odd steps. The bottom of the waterfalls becomes a pressure cooker during rainy season as there is not much air flowing and there is an excess amount of moisture, plus the sun rays. You'll feel like being in a hot sauna. But its fun.

Hundru water fall is located in the Ranchi districts 42km from Ranchi Railway station. It is 320 ft height which is the highest water fall in the state of Jharkhand. It is formed on the course of river Subarnarekha.
The waterfall is located on a hill surrounded by forest. The environment is very beautiful. The water is coming down from the top.The little dots are awakening the freshness in the mind. And creating a beautiful rainbow those water droplets.
Good place to spend time with family. Nice way to reach waterfall...Via 750 staircase..You can hear the sound of waterfall all your way. Hundru fall offers nice,clean and natural view.. try taking the bamboo boat if available. Swimming or bathing is strictly prohibited in the place so be careful.
There are many adventures things as well.
