Jorhat Town

Station is well maintained, Nice and clean. Not very crowded. U can come here during the evening time to witness the sunset or just to hangout with friends. As the place is not very crowded, so u may witness people using the platform as a jogging track during evening and early morning.

Good place for business. Local transportation costlier then usual

It's one of the great town in Assam. Here people are very good and well educated. But at some point it should be more clean. It's a very old town and also many historical places also here. All modern communication entertainment resturant facilities are available here.

One of the biggest market after guwahati.

Jorhat town is one of the larges city in upper Assam. You may go to Jorhat from Guwahati to train and bus both and average engine taken 7.5 hrs and 6 hrs respectively. Main attractions are Majuli, Kareng Ghar, Rang Ghar, Lachit Maidam etc.

Nice railway station with neat and clean platform. having green environment both side. Railway staff also have a good behaviour and manners with all passengers and I hope all the sub should be like these happy and helping.

Jorhat have always been my favourite. I love being in this place. The reason being its people. Lovely and caring. Most friends & extended family belongs to this place, so i could give you an iota of idea about it. This place is also the educational hub of the state of assam. From medical to engineering to agriculture,it has it all. To say, jorhat engineering college, jorhat institute of science and technology, Kaziranga university, jb college, Jorhat Medical college and Hospital, Assam Agricultural university, RRL-NEIST and much more. A new National Institute of Design had been approved too.
It has an airport connectivity too.
Its state transport code is AS-03.
Besides, its also a hub of socio cultural events and institutions. There are various nature resorts and eco parks too.

Big railway station if you want to go majuli come in jorhat town railway station then go to nimati ghat from jadhat and nimati ghat you get ferry service to go kamlabari ghat

The town is full with verious types of shops,clinics,hospitals,hotels,parks etc. And there is also a Planatarium or "taraka griho" here near Balya Bhaban school.Colleges like Jagannath Barua College,Jorhat College,Junior colleges :Cresent Academy,Luyit Valley Academy,Schools:Dipankar Vidyapith , Balya Bhawan are there. There is a famous pond named "Rajmao" pond and "Mitha"pond is also there. Verious petrol pumps,bus stand,tampoo stands are also there.Sometimes heavy traffic are seen in the working days.There is also a Railway station near Lahoti.

Railway connectivity in tge town is a blessing.
