M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was established in 1975 as an affiliating University. Its status was upgraded to affiliating-cum-residential university in 1985 when four teaching Departments were established in the campus. In 1987 three more Departments were added. In August 1997 Rohilkhand University was renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. The University has taken an overall perspective of development plan and thereby modified University status by including new Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Management, Applied Sciences, Education and Allied Sciences etc.

Huge University. 300+ colleges are affiliated with this University. Various courses are provided by the University, cultural events are also going on by there time to time. Sports League also held there. The teachers are good.

This is the main university in Bareilly region. Many courses are offered in the main campus and with other facility like hostal, playground, library and administration block, post office, bank, ATM etc. And most of the colleges in bareilly region are running under this university.

Very nice institution. As a student the time i spent there was the best time. During my studies I had much fun with my fellow classmates.All the Teaching faculty was very supportive and caring they helped us as much as they can .I was the student of M.A. Applied English. Miss those days.
