I recently visited NY Cinemas on Mall Road in Kanpur, formerly known as Heer Palace, and my experience was a delightful mix of highs and lows.

The corridors of the cinema are nothing short of fantastic, providing a unique backdrop for some stunning photoshoots. The attention to cleanliness is commendable, creating a pleasant environment as soon as you step in. The halls boast quality chairs that add to the overall comfort of the movie-watching experience.

The highlight, undoubtedly, is the top-notch theater sound powered by Dolby Atmos. It immerses you in the audio experience and elevates the cinematic journey. I specifically booked a ticket to watch Adipurush, eager to enjoy the film in this impressive setting.

While the movie itself left me somewhat disappointed, the fault lies with the content, not the venue. NY Cinemas deserves applause for maintaining a high standard in terms of ambiance, cleanliness, and audio quality. It's a testament to their commitment to providing a great cinematic experience.

I look forward to revisiting NY Cinemas for future releases, confident that the theater's excellence will continue to shine, making it a standout choice for moviegoers in Kanpur.

This place got renovated recently, and have to say, this is much beautiful now. The screen and seats are also very comfortable. Instead of a single screen, there are 3 screens. The interiors are so beautiful to look at.

NY Cinemas, named after owner Ajay Devgan's kids, Nysa and Yug, has presence in 11 cities. Kanpur is the fifth city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which has NY Cinemas.
MUMBAI:Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, who launched a multiplex business under the brand name of NY Cinemas (based on the initials of his children Nysa and Yug Devgn), is eyeing 250 screens in the next 4-5 years.
The company has 17 operational screens and has already signed 65 more, and will be spending between Rs 600 and Rs 750 crore to reach the mark, Rajeev Sharma, chief executive at NY Cinemas, told ET.
“Ajay is very passionate about the project. So far he has invested his own money and now we have started talking to investors for funding,” Sharma said. “We are looking at adding 50-60 screens per year.” When asked on how NY Cinemas will be different, Sharma said Devgn’s idea is to create a unique, concept-driven multiplex theater design that will be unlike any other cinema experience in BHARAT.

“He wants all the screens to be children, senior citizens and handicap friendly. Also, it was his idea to employ senior citizens and the handicapped persons within the catchment area around the cinema to provide them more opportunities to lead a respectable life,” Sharma said.

NY Cinemas currently has screens operational in Hapur, Ghazipur, Raebareli and Surendranagar. Sharma said the plan is to start with Tier II and III cities where cinema penetration is still in its infancy. Once the company reaches a decent size, it will look to grow into bigger cities, he said earlier, NY Cinemas had roped in Color Craft Studio to create a brand and cinema styling strategy. Soon, it will unveil its new logo and along with the new tagline ‘For The Love of Cinema’.

Heer Palace now taken over as NY cinemas is just amazing. It is renovated and looks superb now. Various photo stations n all. Now, It has 3 theaters with Dolby Atmos surround sound. The theaters are in 3D. Theaters are Very spacious and the chairs are quite comfortable as well. Feels better than Inox, ZSquare.

I like this place to watch movies becouse it newly opened its have best sound system in kanpur. and food prices are on little higher side. I have ordered a chess popcorn for 260₹

The man known for donning many hats has now transformed the heritage single-screen theatre, Heer Palace in Kanpur into a luxurious multiplex. Standing true to its name, this multiplex gives cinema-goers a regal feel as if they’re stepping into a palace that promises nonstop entertainment. Here’s the inside look at Heer Palace.

Heer Palace used to be a single-screen theatre in Kanpur. Ajay Devgn’s NY Cinemas has converted it into a 3-screen multiplex. NY Cinemas is on an expansion spree and looks like this palatial theatre was the latest, part of its project.

Luxurious Heer Palace is split into two levels. Each level has a seating capacity of 700. When it comes to NY Cinemas, it is currently operational in 11 cities. In the pictures, you can see the decor is truly state of the art and the theatres have comfy glossy orange-hued seats. The last row has black sofas. The walls have signature paisley art or Indian mango designs on them. There are 3D screens and Dolby Atmos speakers at this lavish theatre.

The corridors of Heer Palace have palatial dome designs. The theatre is lit in warm yellow lighting, promising cinema-goers a vintage movie experience. Also, the multiplex in Kanpur has Café NY. Here, movie watchers can grab delicious snacks. A live station has freshly prepared meals curated by handpicked chefs. Interestingly, there is also a NY store, which is filled with movie memorabilia and celebrity-branded merchandise.

Heer Palace is the oldest single-screen theatre in Kanpur with 57 years of glorious history. What slowly became a run-down theatre over time is salvaged and transformed by none other than Ajay Devgn, a man who is very passionate about cinema. According to Bollywood Hungama, The architecture of Heer Palace is closely inspired by Kanpur’s rich cultural heritage.

The staff is co-operative and the place is good to go for a movie.
The ambience and seating is comfortable.

Very good atmosphere with big screen size and superb sound experience

The renovation has completely changed heer palace.

The only thing I want to share is that they should put early shows for English language movies...as there is only one show for English movies which is 7PM due to which family and sis avoids to go to NY cinema.. if there is any show which starts early.. i guess more people would be interested to visit and watch the movie in ny cinema if they add some early shows as 7 pm show would end around 10.30pm so that's why most of them avoids that show and go to some other cinemas
