The cave has a long important inscription on the free standing pillar to the south. It helps date this and many other cave temples found along the Krishna river valley, because all of them contain the phrase "Sri Utpati Pidugu".

The Akkanna Madanna caves, dating back to the mid-7th century, are a significant Hindu rock-cut temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, near the Indrakiladri Hill where the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple is located.

Despite being suffered from vandalism and extreme weathering, still showcases inscribed pillars, providing a glimpse into the historical significance of the area. These caves feature carvings of Hindu deities like Lord Ganesha on their outer walls and contain inscriptions in Brahmi script on the pillars of the portico.

Visitors are not allowed inside as it is under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India,.

You could be forgiven for missing this place since its gates are kept closed. It lies on the path to the holy Sri Ameya Durga Malleswari Kanaka Durga temple, and almost everybody just misses it. The caves have been run down due to vandalism and acute weathering yet one can still figure out the carvings of Hindu deities like Lord Ganesha on the cave's outer walls. The caves are *infested* with squirrels, so be prepared for them jumping out of the dark caves, only to scamper away! Do pay heed to the pillars of the portico at the end of the cave complex with inscriptions in Brahmi script. It's heart rending to see the dilapidated condition of the caves but imagining the effort invested in building them and carving them out of the hills is just mind boggling!

A magnificent Eastern Chalukyan hidden treasure. Monolithic caves dug and carved between 6th and 8th century CE. Divided into two complexes, the upper cave complex was once the abode of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma (trimurti) temples.

A monolithic piller still stands depicting Arjuna's yogic effort to attain Pasupatastra from lord Shiva.

Very ancient caves believed to 2nd century BC may be even older. They were visible to public after the renovation of the Indrakeerladri base as the part of 7 storied rajagopuram and mahamandapam.
It depicts the significant and vivid history of Sathavahanas, vishnukundinulu kulikutubshahis and many more dynasties ruled this bezawada and the scriptures, sasanas about the bezawada and kanakadurga but neglected by the archeological department, kanakadurga temple and governments.
One must visit and learn the magnificent history of Bezawada, Indrakeeladri and kanakadurgamma.

Akkanna Madanna caves date back to 7th century AD. One can see the caves while on the way to Kanak Durga temple. You are not allowed to enter the premises as these are precious historical remains and need to be maintained.

Maa Durga mandir at Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. Such a divine mandir and eternal energy you will feel in front of Mataji Vigrah. There are 3 ways of darshan. 1.- Free darshan 2.- Rs. 100 darshan queue 3.- Rs.300 darshan queue and Rs. 500 darshan queue which ever you prefer. Mandir is on the hill and the facilities of the elevator are available to reach up to the mandir. Friday and Sunday are the rush days in Mandir so choose that accordingly. Just in front of the mandir you can see the river Krishna and a Dam too.

Whenever you go for a meal there, you feel like eating at home, but you don't feel like you are going out to eat, especially the owner of the hotel, uncle, takes great care and asks everyone for suggestions. I know that it is the number one hobby in Mangalagiri👌
