Vijayawada Junction (BZA) is important node in the huge railway network of India. It is 4th busiest railway station in terms of handling passenger trains after Howrah, New Delhi & Kanpur. It also has the 2nd largest railway marshalling yard in India after Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
Lying in the strategic location on Golden Quadrilateral network, it's important for freight traffic as well with the upcoming East Coast DFC & North South DFC.
With 10 platforms, it is always packed with passengers. It is also worth mentioning that there are several entry/exits terminals named East, West, South etc across the station to manage the crowd and prevent any mishap.

This is a huge railway station and very much busy one all the time 24 hours. This sits between the most busiest track route from Kolkata to Chennai. So many trains stop here and almost all the trains will have 10 to 15 min stop break here and fill in water and other carriers for pantry etc. With 10 platforms and some standby tracks, large number of food stalls. Many escalators and lifts are also available. Overall a very good railway station. This is the longest railway station in India.

Vijaywada railyway station is very big and it is a junction which connects many trains to different cities. I travelled from tirupati to vijayawada. On the way to railway station we can see beautiful prakasam barrage and if one is lucky and get chance to see in night we are able to see the barrage in lights view.

I felt very pleasant in this station and food is good and tasty, clock room facility available, vehicle paid parking is more than bus stand paid parking is 6 hours 12 rs charge

Very nice, every time fully crowded because this is center point to travel many other places, so vijayawada always busy with public crowd. From station to bus station around 1 km distance only , usually public by walk will reach bus station.
