5 stars both for cleanliness maintained and presence of a wholesome Vav structure.

Elaborating same of many Vavs seen, except Patans Rani ki Vav which is a UNESCO site, this is a clean maintained Vav.

Do not visit this vav if looking for carvings, idols and miniature sculpture but in sense of a characteristic Vav,this place earns 100 marks and meet all your queries and lays before you a full fleged functional Vav.

The basics entry dome, descending steps, supportive pillars, slabs, three of spiraling stairwells all functional, central well, water arteries for storage and channeling, All intact.

The surrounding garden is also well kept.

Google leads to this Vav. Parking is your arrangements as entry is on main road just as Isanpur overbridge ends.

Timings sunrise to sunset.Free entry.

Only surprising that nowhere in whole vicinity this Vav name is displayed which is popular and known as Jethabhai Vav. But kudos to concerned officials and staff who have maintained this Vav so well as compared to all other Vav in Gujarat.

A must see for Vav enthusiastics. Rush before it turns to a hot spot for tourists.

Enjoy.

This quite an offbeat place in Ahmedabad for heritage lovers. Tucked away from the mainstream the step well is located in the dense part of Ahmedabad. There is not much onsite information available about this place so Google it before you visit. It seems this site was resurrected in 2018 and due to COVID they couldn't do much publicity later on. The place remains open from 9 to 5. There is a security guard, he is nice and cooperative but hardly knows any history about the place. This place is just 2-min walking distance from BRT station of Isanpur Chokdi. You might find parking difficult so better to take BRTS as that's what I did.

The step well resembles quite a lot to Rani ki vav but it is a bit smaller and 3 storied. There are circular stairs on top that takes you to different floors. Overall, it is a stunning piece of old architecture.

Visited on 9th Nov 2019. Site maintained by ASI, Clean. Green. Vav is also clean. Well maintained. Can go to the lowest level (unlike many other vavs).
Worth visiting. There is a interesting looking masjid next to this vav, it was closed when I went there. Worth a visit. Pics attached.

Jethabhai stepwell is a mixture of some other monuments cause it's essembled with different carved stones at different places on that area.
Though it is such a beautiful monument in our Ahmedabad to proud of.

Have been there daily when I was studying in school. My school was just beside Jethabhai's step well. But at that time it wasn't well maintained! And now, the scenario is very different... It is well maintained by archeological department.
It is the best place for heritage lovers. The surrounding is so green and beautiful.
You will be amazed by each element of this step well.
Architect's vision can be seen in the grandiose of the Step Well..

8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. are the visiting hours.

During my school days it was kind of "Khandar" and we go here to play catch and run game during school lunch break. It was heritage place for parents but childern from near by school enjoyed their school days there. Now it's developed and maintained by government. Good place but rare people visit at there. Government invested but very few visiters. Need to do something for it.

James Burgess wrote in 1905 in the Archaeological Survey of Western India, volume VIII, "two and a half miles south of Ahmadabad, near Isanpur... [is] perhaps one of the most modern examples of the regular wav [step well]. It was constructed little more than forty years ago by the late Jethabhai Jivanlal Nagjibhai (or Mulji) of Ahmadabad. To obtain the materials, he purchased from the holder of Shah Alam the rauza belonging to a masjid known as that of Malik Alam...and from the late Qazi Hasan-ud-din of Ahmadabad he bought the Nenpurvada masjid at Rajapur-Hirpur together with its accompanying rauza. These were pulled down by the Hindu purchaser and the materials used in the construction of this well and in putting up a portico to his temple in the Shaherkotda suburb. In the ornamentation of the well one of the mihrabs of the mosque has evidently been utilized. This wav... is 210 feet (64 m) in length and from 21 to 22 feet (6.4 to 6.7 m) wide, with a dome raised on twelve pillars on the entrance at the west end. It has the usual descents from platform or gallery to gallery."
The stepwell was built by Jethabhai around 1860s. It has four pavilions and the entrance pavilion is canopied.
The stepwell was restored by the Archaeological Survey of India in 2017-18.

Heritage places need not rating. They have proven their time. It's a nice piece of embedded time and heritage.
