Amazing campus. Developing with great speed. Good to see the changes between the old and new buildings and departments. When I first joined the university in 2017, there were no good buildings, muddy streets, no good play area. But in 2020 I left the campus while seeing all such things developing rapidly.

Gujarat University is one of the best university in the area. It is neat and clean moreover the surrounding atmosphere and greenery is beautiful as well as many art and many other courses are available . It is next to the LD College of engineering.

The environment here is good, it is the best university in Gujarat University is an affiliating University at the under-graduate level, while it is a teaching one at the post-graduate level. The external examinations were introduced with a view to enabling working students and the others who could not afford the high cost of university education to realize their dream. Also The college provides best facilities such as labs, library, playing ground, hygenice mess, comfortable benches, wife and etc. In the boys hostle, each room alloted for 2 students. Annamalai Univeristy offers many courses, the teaching staff of all the courses are well talented and experienced.

Gujarat University is famous in all time as this is one of the oldest universities and is known to many many of us. When there were no other extended universities there in Ahmedabad, at that time, this was the only university for all faculty students. The charm of that place is the same even today. Wonderful campus, absolute maintained premises for the students, and helpfulness for all kinds of and every faculty of students is amazing.

History
Many leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Anandshankar Dhruv, Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar and Kasturbhai Lalbhai recommended formation of the university in the 1920s, and the university was established soon after the independence of India. Gujarat University was evolved out of Ahmedabad Education Society, a major educational organisation of Gujarat then.

Gujarat University was formed under the Gujarat University Act of the Government of Gujarat in 1949 as a teaching and affiliating university. It was established under the recommendation of a committee headed by Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar for rearrangement of university education in Bombay State.Many universities were established later which resulted in decrease in jurisdiction of Gujarat University.

It is an affiliating university at the under-graduate level and a teaching one at the post-graduate level. Close to three-hundred thousand students study at university in the courses, faculties and affiliated institutes. The university caters for external as well as enrolled students. The campus of the university, located in the Navarangpura area of Ahmedabad, is spread over 260 acres (1.1 km2). Affiliated colleges and institutes are spread across the Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda district (excluding the limits of Vallabh Vidyanagar in Anand Taluka and the area with a radius of 5 miles (8.0 km) from the office of Sardar Patel University).

In March 2012, the university started a campus radio service named GURU on 90.8 MHz, which was first kind of it in the state of Gujarat and fifth in India.

Covid 19 impect

The university campus is closed from 23 March 2020, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the lockdown. Recently, the university announced to held exams from 2 July 2020 to 13 July, but the university has quashed the order and postponed the exams until things go back to normalcy.

Established in 1949 under the Gujarat University Act, the Gujarat University is largest and oldest university of the Gujarat state. The idea of setting up the university conceived in 1940s and the seed of inceptions was laid down by Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel under the chairmanship of Mr. G. B.
It was established in the year 1976 in University School of Sciences at Gujarat University.  Department offers the M.Sc., M.Phil. & Ph.D. programmes in the subject of Microbiology and Biotechnology. Major thrust areas of the Department are systematic bacteriology, industrial and environmental microbial technology.

The best aspects is that living on campus is extremely easy to go to lectures and all scheduled events, it is easy to go round and there are many things you can do such as walk around the farm etc, as well as this there is also access to the bus to get to and back from Newport. Apart from that this university is great and I am loving it.
