Oldest College in entire Northeast India! Established in 1901 by Sir Henry Cotton! It is one of the most reputed and topmost college for higher education in Northeast India and especially in the state of Assam.
I did BCA from here, honest opinion not recommended, very average education for technical courses. But good for Higher Secondary and degrees like B.A. B.Sc. etc.

Cotton University (formerly known as Cotton College) is a public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 2017 by the provisions of an Act from the Assam Legislative Assembly which merged Cotton College State University and Cotton College. The University progressed to become one of the top 200 institutions of the country (appearing in the band of 150–200 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework rank list in May 2020).

Cotton College was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam. It was the oldest institute of higher education in Assam, and within the whole of Northeast India.[2]

Cotton College became a constituent college of Gauhati University in 1948, and then subsequently of the Cotton College State University when it was established in 2011 by an Act (Act XIX of 2011) of the Assam Government. The Cotton University Act, 2017 was enacted to resolve the problems between the College and the university[3]

This is one of the well maintained University in Assam. Students and Professors both are very polite and respectful. A hygienic place to walk around.

Amazing college, now university. I studied for two years for my higher secondary. Environment friendly campus. Great experience and good studies. A great start to a new life. Experienced teachers and helpful staff. Though departments are quite far for science students but you must work hard and walk hard😉. Students from different part of NER come together under the same roof for education. Met new people made great friends and shared love and support.

Best institute to experience your life to the fullest.....i have experienced a lot ,learned a lot , enjoyed a lot here . Cotton is an emotion for all the cottonians and it's a dream of every student to study here once in their life. Cotton University is located in panbazar .we have the biggest library here and now improvement is going on.

First college of Assam. Now it's a wonderful university with beautiful campus.

A good University of assam. Results, facilities, parking, teaching staff all everything are good. For a student it's a great university

Helpful professors and good ambience for study but should be more maintained specifically the infrastructure should be improved

It is a good university . Environment is clean . And you can enjoy a lot here. There are many couses available. This is the only university in NE that ha HS to PHD level couses. And yes the faculty are too good and they always give quick responses. I myself study in this university in geology department.

It's the oldest college of Assam , established in 1901. Now it is an complete University under UGC.It is one of the few Univercities who got A++ by NAAC. The infrastructure of the university is too nice.The location and the weather of the college is awesome. You have to give the toughest ever entrance to take admission into it.

They are still producing the best of talents in Assam.. One thing lacking is the entrepreneurship skill development.. If all students go for job, who will create the jobs..
