Jami Masjid Sarkhej

The magnificent and Built-in 1423, during the rule of Ahmed Shah. The architecture is a beautiful combination of Islamic & Hindu Architecture. It is built of yellow sandstone and white marble. The mesmerising and huge courtyard is made of white marble, surrounded by columns. The columns are decorated with Arabic calligraphy drawn on them, making it intriguing. The Jama Masjid is one of the main tourist attraction cause of majestic architecture. The prayer hall is supported by 260 columns.

This is mosque historical place Sarkhej Jumma Masjid is one of the most beautiful mosques in India. It was built in 1423 by the founder of the city, Sultan Ahmed Shah. The mosque is a great example of Indo Saracenic architecture. It presents a blend of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture. Located at the center of the old city the mosque rests on 260 pillars, supporting fifteen domes. It took approximately 13 years to get fully constructed and is a master piece of the Ahmedabadi eclectic style. The structure is built in yellow sandstone and has a white marble courtyard, with a pool in the center. It has a huge archway in the front. The mosque is dotted by a number of striking pillars, adorned with intricate carvings. These pillars form exact quadrangles for the Friday prayers. The main prayer hall has natural light and shading through the domes and the mesh on the windows...

A few days ago, I visited Ahmedabad and saw the Jama Masjid for the first time. It is an incredibly large and beautiful mosque, meticulously maintained and exceptionally clean. The architecture and intricate design were awe-inspiring. The moment I entered, I was captivated by the serene ambiance and the sense of history that enveloped the place. The grandeur of the courtyard and the imposing domes left me spellbound.

The Jama Masjid is a true testament to the rich cultural heritage of Ahmedabad and a place that fills one's heart with a deep sense of reverence. Beautiful place with some wonderful architecture and a few peaceful spots (although it can get crowded sometimes). Apart from the main dargah, there are beautiful tombs in the back and a grand masjid.

Beautiful experience. The architecture and history behind was all a new experience. The Masjid is in the centre of the crowded market so you have to walk through, your vehicle won't be able to make it. You can find the authenticity of old ahmedabad while walking in the market.

It is a fine place as tourist spot with family and kids. The Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad was perhaps the largest in India. Built with beautiful yellow sandstones on a raised Platform, the mosque stands on one side of a huge rectangular platform with three entrances and galleries on three sides.

This is a good place to know history. This Islamic culture mosque and tomb is a wonderful sight of old engineering.
