A very nice temple went on Wednesday 27th December luckily it was not crowded and had good darshan. I was so lucky that I had darsan 2 times at the same time when I went inside.
One thing I would like to share when u reach the temple u will find lots of shopkeepers who will ask u to come to the shop and put ur chappals and shoes in the shop and buy sweets and other Puja material to offer god and they will take to other shops were they will ask you to buy holy water can for jal abhishek and then they will take u to the panda who will demand money like rs1100 and if u gave rs100 than they will leave u alone and ask u to go inside own and do Puja ,don't fall in trap of these guys all r cheater, if u spend some time you will have darshan.
Everything is costly there and outside the temple, hotels food is horrible I had that food and got severe headache, loose motions so plz carry your own food and snacks.

The famous temple of Lord Shiva is worshiped as Baba Tarakanath hence the name of the temple is Tarakeswar temple and also the name of the place is Tarakeswar.  Shravan month in Bengal is father's birth month.  So most devotees come here for puja.  Walking distance from Tarkeswar railway station.
Pilgrims take a holy dip in the famous milk pond before the offered puja.  Everyone should avoid worshipers called pandas.  They will demand unnecessary money for offering pooja and darshan where no payment is required for darshan.  The temple floor is always slippery due to water and mud so one has to walk carefully.

I had visited this place by two wheeler. I was wondering if there is a proper parking facility but didn't find any. When I reached the place one guy from a shop asked me to park it infront of his shop and asked me to keep our shoes there for FREE! Then he asked us to take flowers and Prasad from his shop and charged ₹100 for small one. I had to agree as my two wheeler was there for security reasons.

Then he was taking us to priest so that now it will be his turn to scam us in the name of darshan and Pooja. However, we politely refused. We made darshan on our own.

Keeping that aside, this is one of the best place to visit and offer prayers to Lord Shiv 🙏. Take a holy drip near pond before darshan. Try to visit this place very early in the morning. Men are not allowed to enter with shirts/t-shirts for darshan. This place is managed by female security officers.

Good place for hindu devotees. Little bit congested area. Wheelchair are not accessible. Lack of proper line maintenance can be observed here. Darsen is closed from 9.00AM to 11.00 AM in the morning. Too much gathering observed in holiday, specially in Chaitra, baisakh and shravan months.

In West Bengal we have a prevalent Krishna culture...but the most prominent place of Shiva worship is definitely taraknath temple in tarakeswar...the temple is located very near from the station and pretty well maintained...if we can go early in the morning we can see the original linga..before they put the silver hood on top of it...the temple open around 5 AM in morning...the arati in morning and evening is really powerful ones...we stayed at Hanuman choti nearby and had a early morning darshan as well...i strongly recommend visiting and meditating in this place to feel the energy of Shiva🙏🏻

Most historical place, there are too many shops around this temple and too busy area.. But who go once he/she will go to again & again.
But make sure that time to go there because July & August month there was a lot of crowd.
The place is located near Tarakesswar station & Police station.

Tarakeswar is a famous sacred city and a municipality in Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Tarakeswar is called "Babar Dham" or "The city of Shiva". It is one of the major tourist and holy place of West Bengal as well as India.Tarakeswar is a place of pilgrimage of Lord Shiva sect in West Bengal 58 kilometres (36 mi) away from State Capital Kolkata and about 1520 kilometres away from National Capital New Delhi. Tarakeswar can be reached conveniently by Train and Bus from various places of West Bengal. Tarakeswar Station is well connected by Howrah Station. This city is also famous for agriculture, Tarakeswar's (Especially Champandanga) potato is also famous in all over India.

When I visited this temple I am very happy. Because I belive in God. If you go this temple for worship, at First you have to bathe in the milk pond (Dudhpukur),then go to worship।

Har har Mahadev ❤🙏

Nothing to say about the glorious Temple.

Developed a lot but still more development required. No clean toilet found. Parking space is very small. Entrance & entire temple corridor need development.

People mainly shopkeepers who are selling Prasad for offering to good, shopkeepers who are selling Ganga jol (water) , Purohit (prist) etc are ready cheat you and charging anything.

Rating such place is beyond of our control.
But but..
CAUTION!!!!
Beware of fraud stall for Prasad and so called self-assumed pandas.
Someone should visit there only for darshan rather falling in trap of those fraudsters who will let you to fall in their prey right from railway station which might cost you to ended up spending 1K-1.5K bucks without any sense.
