One of the ancient historical place of bengal's raja krishnachandra. He was a jaminder as well as nawab of nadia district. Rajbari is opened at durga puja, jagadhatri pujo and baro doler mela. Visitors can visit the innerside of rajbari at this time. People can see old used things of raja, natmondir, mughal architecture etc. I visited on 2023 at durga puja nabami.

This rajbari is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Krishnanagar, Nadia. Apart from the memory of Maharaj Krishna Chandra, names of various personalities including Gopal Bhar, Ray Gunakor Bharat Chandra are associated with this palace. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the palace throughout the year except on certain days. Visitors are only allowed during Durga puja, Jagadhatri puja and Barodol utsav. Every year a huge fair is held in the rajbari premises on the occasion of Barodol utsav. The natmandir of the rajbari is a spectacular architecture.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Krishnanagar Rajbari, and it was a remarkable experience. The Rajbari is a place steeped in history and culture, and it left a lasting impression on me. The moment I set foot on the premises, I was transported to a bygone era. The ambiance at Krishnanagar Rajbari is truly captivating, evoking a sense of old-world charm and grandeur. The well-maintained gardens, ancient trees, and the serene surroundings make it a delightful place to explore. The Rajbari itself is a splendid old building, showcasing a blend of Mughal and European architectural styles. The intricate carvings and detailed designs reflect the craftsmanship of its time. The historical significance of this place is palpable as you walk through its corridors and rooms. One of the highlights of my visit was the enchanting Durga Puja celebration that took place within the Krishnanagar Rajbari. The beautifully designed Durga idol and the vibrant festivities added an extra layer of cultural richness to the experience. However, I should note that the wait time to enter was somewhat long; we had to wait for about 10 minutes before gaining access. Additionally, the road conditions leading to the Rajbari are not the best, so be prepared for a bumpy ride. Despite this, the experience is well worth it. As you explore the area, you'll find numerous stalls offering local treats and crafts. This adds a lively and colorful aspect to the visit, but it can also contribute to congestion during peak times. In summary, my visit to the Krishnanagar Rajbari was a memorable one. The captivating ambiance, the historical significance of the building, and the beauty of the Durga Puja celebration left me with a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of the region. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait to enter, and the road conditions might be a bit challenging. Nonetheless, the overall experience and the vibrant atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. Also side note it also had a nursery on the enterance.

Many people know that Raja Krishna Chandra Roy was the landlord of Krishnanagar Rajbari. Present Generation Mr. Soumishchandra Roy his wife Mrs. Amrita Roy and son Manish Chandra Roy. Many believe that Jagaddhatri Puja started from here.
And the story is...
Durga Navami Puja was almost over when Maharaj Krishnachandra was released from prison and was returning to the capital Krishnanagar by boat. The weary sad king had a dream that day of a girl dressed in red cloth with chakra conch and mace in her hand. And that girl ordered him to worship on the next Shukla Navami. After discussing with the Pandit, he came to know that the girl seen in the dream was actually Jagaddhatri. King Krishnachandra made the idol he saw in his dream and started worshiping it.ressed in red cloth with chakra conch and mace in her hand. And that girl ordered him to worship on the next Shukla Navami. After discussing with the Pandit, he came to know that the girl seen in the dream was actually Jagaddhatri. King Krishnachandra made the idol he saw in his dream and started worshiping it.

It is the most prominent historical Landmark of krishnagar. Actually I was present there to visit Baro doler mela which start by end of March (Ekadashi) and continues month long. The mela is conducted outside the campus of Rajbari. Previously I visited the Rajbari. On the occation of durgapuja we entered inside of the Rajbari and felt that the maintenance may be better to keep updated such a landmark of district town of Nadia.

Historic places, it stands own vanity. But present administration is very careless to maintain. Krishnagar city is so crowded, local authorities failed to control the traffic, its horror to complete your journey

Rajbari of Krishnagar. The city was named after Raja Krishna Chandra. This is of great historical importance to this city. And the yearly Barodol which is a one month festival is a different phenomenon and it is done in the most colourful way with food, amusement, shops and many more to enjoy.
