It is the most famous Jagadhatri Puja of Krishnanagar and one of the oldest. Burima is considered a live deity by the local people. Many devotees present her gold Jewelleries (mostly a bindi of gold) when their wishes are fulfilled after asking her for that. The idol immersion takes place at dawn or sometimes even before, and lot of people visit there to say her a good bye and waiting for her arrival the next year. Many say, in the dark, when she is brought for immersion, it seems she is walking by herself, as no vehicle is used to take her to the immersion ghat but people carry her huge idol and the whole thing looks so spiritual and divine.

The most famous puja of Krishnanagar city is Jagaddhatri, this puja was started by Maharaj of Krishnanagar. Goddess Burima is worshiped in Chasha Para of Krishnanagar which is now world famous. In 2022 this puja is completing 250 years.
