Beautiful temple located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. It is located in Kasaragod district and is easily accessible on the Edapally Panvel highway. Parking spots are available next to the temple. Be sure to visit this temple and read the legends associated with this temple online. This temple is known as a place for performing last rites for our beloved ones who have departed.

Located between Kanhangad and Kasaragod, thos beautiful Lord Shiva temple is right on the Kasaragod Panvel highway, facing the majestic Arabian sea on the opposite side. This is my 2nd visit to this temple. Last visited in 1994 and now, yesterday. This temple is also known as Dakshin Kasi temple. People come here to offer prayers for peaceful resting of departed souls of family members. Very peaceful place.

Trikkanad Thrayambakeshwar Temple is located on the shores of Arabian sea, temple faces the beach and at Edappally - Panvel Hwy. The temple is popularly known as Dakshina Kashi. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. Balitharpanam (hindu ritual for the souls of ancestors) is performed at this temple.
February and March are the months for festivals. The annual temple festival lasts for one week. Kodiyettam (flag hoisting) marks the beginning of the festival. The celebrations include performances of Theyyam and Thidambu Nritham, a ritual art form of North Kerala more than 700 years old. Ashtami Vilakku and Pallivetta are the two rituals associated with the festival. Pallivetta or the hunting expedition of the Lord takes place on the last day of the festival. This hunt is symbolic of the destruction of Kama (desire), Krodha (anger) and other such evils that plague us in our life. Thousand of devotees from all over the district attend the festival. The temple is also unique for the fact that it is one of those rare temples that faces the west. The temple is is around 2.5km from Bekal Fort. Nearest Railway station - Kotikulam, Kanhangad.

This temple faces the Arabian Sea. Located just at a distance of less than 200 meters the view gives an extremely serene feeling when the waves hit the rocks on the beach bed. Temple has a prominent role in Malayali Hindu culture as it is the place where rituals for departed souls are performed.
