According to Adi Shankaracharya, Mangla Gauri temple / Sarvamangala Devi Peeth is one of the Ashtadasa Shakti Peeths. The temple has been mentioned in Padma Purana, Vayu Purana, Agni Purana and in many scriptures and tantric works and it upholds the faith of Hindus in “Shakti”. Mangala Gauri Temple is located in Gaya, Bihar and stands on the bank of Falgu River. Gaya in India is held holy and pious by both Hindu and Buddhists. The narrow by lanes with age old buildings, beautiful natural surroundings with rocky hills on the three sides and river flowing by the city on the western side makes the city look beautiful and elates the spiritual atmosphere of the place. The present temple was constructed in 1459 AD. The temple is dedicated to Mangala Gauri, the Mother Goddess Shakti, who is worshipped as the Goddess of benevolence. This temple constitutes an Upa-Shakti Pitha – where it is believed that a part of the body of Shakti fell – according to mythology. Here Shakti is worshiped in the form of a breast symbol, a symbol of nourishment.

The temple faces east and is situated on top of the Mangala Gauri hill. There is a flight of steps as well as a motorable road that lead to the temple. The sanctum is adorned with some intricately carved ancient sculptures. There is a small hall in front of the temple and a fire pit in the courtyard. There are two small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mahishasura Mardini, Durga and Dakshina Kali.

The Mangla Gauri temple is among the eighteen maha shaktipeeth, it is believed that a part of the body of Sati Devi fell here according to mythology. It is an ancient temple, located on a small hillock, couple of stairs to be climbed. Mangalagauri is worshiped as the Goddess of benevolence. The temple complex was clean and also houses temples of Maa Kali, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva. We visited the temple on a Tuesday and stood in the extra ordinary line. Though the que was big, we managed to have special darshan paying 250rs each for ticket. A blissful visit and darshan of Mata Mangala Gouri.

Maa Mangala Gauri Temple is the temple of Shaktipeeth. If you make any wish in this temple, your wish gets fulfilled. Coconut is sacrificed here.

Though the que was not big, but it was moving too slow Because The main temple is not very big, too many devotees were trying to enter the main temple for puja and darshan at a time, creating some difficulties for others, crowd management by the temple committee may ceto rtainly be improved. The approach road to the temple was narrow and dusty. Overall, a blissful visit and darshan of Mata Mangala Gouri.

Visiting a Shaktipeeth is the biggest present to me and this time, I got this special chance of visiting Maa Mangla Gauri Mandir to pay my heartfelt homage to Maa. The way to the foot of the Mandir was slightly uneven and when we reached, it was not so crowded. We took the stairs and soon we were standing in queue to enter the sanctum sanctorum which has a very low, narrow and dark passage.

It was not so much crowded and our turn arrived within twenty minutes. I knelt down and entered the dark building and there was another entrance smaller than the previous one and was quite compact and darker except for the fact that a huge diya was glowering killing the darkness fully. From the moment, I had stepped in, I was feeling ecstatic and truly blessed. When I went in front of the idol and offered flowers, coconut water and chunni, I felt so energized and unusual in the best manner. It was a feeling I only get when I visit a Shaktipeeth.

One may pay INR 250 per person for special and quicker entry, but as there was not much crowd, it was amazing to wait in queue and chant mantras. It was enchanting to take blessings of Maa and after that I completed a circumambulation and went to pay obeisance to Durga Maa and Kaali Maa. One may donate for food or the overall maintenance of the mandir, The kind of peace I felt within is really hard to describe in simple words.

Jai Maa!

One of the Shiddhi Pith Mandir 🛕. Preferred time to visit is in morning else there will be crowd.
Inside Mandir, no light available, 8-10 people allowed to go inside for Darshan at a time.

One of the shakthipeet of Maa Gauri popular among house holders. It is in close proximity to Gaya in Bihar. Road to it though single lane is manageable from varanasi and kolkata highway. It can also be approached from much decent roads from Buddha Gaya side. Temple is located on a small hillock approchable by car though. Limited car parking is available in front of the temple.

For God one can not determine ratings. Visited as someone suggested it is divine to visit and a famous Shaktipeeth. The temple is located in small lane with improper upkeep. Still the people associated try level best to work together and maintain the temple well. One has to bend and enter the temple like Vaishnadevi temple Running water was there making the floor slippery. In the inside, it is dark where Maa Mangla Gauri's holy Darshan and blessings can be sought. The temple was nicely decorated with flowers.
