Kava Island Reservoir View Point

Kava Island is a natural island in the Palakkad district of Kerala. It's located behind the Malampuzha dam and surrounded by lush green hills. it's a great place for photographers, trekkers, and nature lovers. There are no entry fees , there are small shops which serve lunch,snacks and breakfast. The rates are not very high even the complimentary fish curry was great , you can reach near the water by your vehicle, it can be considered a small trekking spot, the way to the kava island is a treat to the eyes. We reached there during pleasant weather so it was great... I would recommend visiting there in the evening between 4 to 6. There are no parking facilities you have to park your car on the road

Amazing view of mountain,dam water and the beautiful landscape. Evening time was very ambient one. We can spend hours with simply sitting and observing the nature. The one of most beautiful places in Palakkad. One side the western ghats are headed up and it touches the clouds and sky. The cattles are widely eating the grassroots. In evening there is fresh winds are passing through the mountain and it touches the water and cooling the area.

More than the Kava Island, the drive to Kava itself is beautiful. There is nothing much to do at Kava.. its just the drive and serenity around that you can gaze at. Ideal to spend some quality time with family in the peaceful environment. Recommend visiting here in the evenings, amazing sunset view amidst the palm trees is definitely a beautiful sight. There are few street shops selling brined fruits and baked corns and lime juice.

One of the iconic drive-in reservoirs in kerala, I don't think is there any other place like this with a scenic drive around the reservoirs in south india, and apart from that you could get some good fresh water fish menu nearby to satisfy your tummy too. Must visit places in palakkad.

One of the most beautiful places in kerala. Which will be interesting for nature lovers and explorers. It is situated in the banks of malapuzha reservoir. A good road facility and most suitable for cinema shooting. climate is normal and nothing more or less. we can enter with our vehicle to reservoir

When I visited the reservoir is fully filled with water so that the scenes are so beautiful and no disturbance of 🌞 light when walking through the road.

Best view of sunset with a scenic ambience. Kava have different faces during different seasons. It is the catchment area of Malampuzha dam. The roads leading are very good and its a nice drive amoung the woods serving like a canopy. Either sides of the roads are covered with mango trees etc. The area is fenced and there is an open way to get to the viewpoint. I saw two wheelers roaming around the place, although i suggest a good walk around the place. I visited the place when it was almost summer and evidently the water was less. I suggest not to roam into the water since it is covered in clay.But the view and the breeze there is soo soothing and calming,i am absolutely in love with the place.

It's a beautiful drive from Palakkad town.

If you want to see some big view or something kava is not for you. But if you like riding, bike or car, you would love the smooth roads with wide view of the dam on your side with fresh breezy air. From the malampuzha dam there is around 20 km one can go behind the dam till they reach a dead end. And almost at the middle is this view point, from which if you come at the right time can see a beautiful sunset.

Cool place... Try to visit near sunset or sunrise (also beware of the road there due to elephants and other wildlife)
