Shoolagiri Dam

-One of the most peaceful places, I have ever visited.
- This Dam is near, if you are staying near South Bangalore
-Drive to this place was filled with happiness for me, as one can ride through the country side and lush greenary
-Calm place, not much crowded
-Surrounding area looks clean
-we went in August & noticed good amount of water
- Try to be their at golden hour, to see the best view(Sunset)
- Carry food since no shops will be available near dam
-parking is available for free
-No entry fee
- I feel ,it's best place for a bike ride(for little distance you need to do offroading,as roads are not good)

Note :please don't pollute the environment by throwing waste like plastic

Nice place, especially when it's a sunny day..good for evening relaxation. As told in previous reviews there is a trails (offroading) road for a small distance. good for bikers. let's pledge to keep this place clean.

Maps might be little de routing, be careful folks. Smart to ask the local people and head towards the dam. It’s a decent sized dam maybe a reservoir too. Well maintained and please don’t litter the place. Best to visit during monsoon and the roads were too good as usual.

Quite peaceful place. There was literally no one there on weekends. A small dam having a 3 hills background which forms Thrishoola structure. Hence the name shoolagiri. Very zen place to spend some time peacefully.

Quiet and serene place for a morning ride. Highway to the place is good. Try to escape the Attibele Toll before the rush hour traffic. To get to this destination, take the service road after the HP COCO petrol bunk. The road is much better on this route. The other route recommended by Google takes you through small roads and through villages.

Wow amazing place for the picnic. Roads are awesome for the bike ride. No one disturbed us. Calm place. Nice nature view. It was cleaned and maintained well.

Well maintained dam. Early morning or late evening is the best time to visit. Entry and exit are a bit steep with loose asphalt lying around. Suitable for cars and bikes. View of the man made reservoir with backdrop of the nearby mountain range. Bliss !!

Best place to have a one day trip on bike. It's too windy and good place to take pics around the nature and enjoy the cool breeze across. One can carry lunch and have it as a picnic, it takes 1hr 15 mins to reach the destination from Bangalore, suggest you to start ur travel by 7.30 in the morning to avoid the traffic. U will reach by 9 atleast by taking breaks in between. U can experience the best roads for the trip on bike and can feel the nature.

But there route is little bad before you reach the place but worth traveling to this place 🙂

Nice off road to this place. On week day there was no one else. Very beautiful and peaceful.

Piecefull... Less crowded.. good view to sit and spend some quality time with friends.
The only drawback is that the water is not at all clean..

Quiet place to explore over weekend. Can try fishing too. (Be careful)

A short one hour ride south east of Bengaluru
