The Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCBD University), formerly North Orissa University (NOU) was established by the Government of Orissa, under the Section 32 of the Odisha University Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989), vide notification No. 880 dated 13th July 1998. It was carved out of the Utkal University and became operational since 1999 at Takatpur (98.84 acres) of Baripada in the Mayurbhanj District of Odisha as an affiliating university.

Environment of this university are very beautiful . Many types of plants are planted inside this university .library facilities are very good . Teaching staffs are very friendly . You can enjoy this university in its teaching and facilities . Parking spaces are very large . Well equipped Laboratory are present in every department.

An fantastic University in which you may get everything. A friendly atmosphere will attract you. Maximum courses offered you need. I'm felling proud as a student of here. I love my University very much.
