Historical Fort on top of Jalore City. Well worth the visit and climb up. Simple, pure, Historical, beauty and peace.

Lots of temples and mosques to see and a LOT of history up there.

There aren't any commercial aspects here at all so all completely natural and untouched.

A healthy visit.... As there were more then 2000 steps to climb up... It will take 40 min for a healthy and fit person to climb and 20 mins to come down . Initially if you are not a regular adventurer you will find it somehow scary in the beginning.. no people around but as u will reach at the top you will find many people there.... And the most beautiful thing i saw was that there are many mosques and temples together... you will get a complete view of jalore from the topmost point...
Unfortunately it is shattered now mostly but if it could have been maintained then it would be as beautiful as the chhitorgarh fort....

It is the centre attraction of jalore, the granite city of india. (Old name - jabalipura) . This for is also called suvarnagiri and was ruled by Gurjar pratiharas in 8,9th century. By paramaras in 10th and in 1181 chauhans .
Later allauddin Khilji captured it in 1311. Later the Mughals and restored to marwar in 1704 to independence. Jalore is also called cradle of Marwari house.Jalore Fort Rajasthan (Suvarnagiri Fort Jalore)

The fort is very old, not much is left in the fort, it is in complete ruins.

There is a thousand years old temple of Maa Ashapura And India's second Somnath Mahadev Temple

𝙅𝘼𝙇𝙊𝙍𝙀 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙏 is the main attraction of Jalore, a District in the Indian state of Rajasthan. In the 10th Century it is one of the most famous & impressive fort in the State and has been known through history as the Svarngiri or the "golden mount".This fort is a symbol of the valor of Songra Chauhan's. The Songra Chauhan's made their name all over the world by defeating a cruel Turkic emperor like Alauddin. Veer Veeramdev and Rao Kanhadd Dev defeated a power like Alauddin from this fort to protect their motherland with their valorous might.

@Attractions - The mahal or "the residential palace" inside the fort is now desolated, and what is left of it are the ruined symmetrical walls with huge rock formations around it. The cut-stone walls of the fort are still intact at many places. There are some drinking water tanks in the fort.

Jalore fort is known as Swarngiri fort also because located on Golden Mount.

Serpentine upward sloppy path is the only way to access the top everyone has to cross the three very strong gigantic gates which are also tourists attraction, where fort is built. Visitors love to enjoy this adventurous trip. While climbing, visitors will find lot of canons some are placed on bastions and some are lying close to the fortress wall. This fort is surrounded by granite's cliffs and hills. The fort peak seems to be the highest. Visitors love to enjoy the photography at the gates, on the bastions with canons, and the Jalore looks absolutely attractive.

This hill fort of Jalore is counted among the ancient and fortified forts of western Rajasthan. This fort was ruled by Rajput dynasties like Pratihara, Parmar, Solanki, Rathore etc. in various periods since 8th century. This fort was taken over Alauddin Khilji by the Sultan of Delhi, in 1311-12 AD. In this way, Jalore became the right of Muslims. In 1607 AD, Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur conquered this fort from the Pathans.

Won by Pathans.

This fort is protected by large and advanced ramparts. Its four strong entrances which are studded with heavy sharp iron pegs thick wooden panels are Surajpol, Dhruvpol, Chandpol and Sirepol respectively. Among the historical sites of the fort, Maharaja Mansingh's palace and Jharokhe, Dumanjila Rani Mahal, armory, Annaj Bhandar, these are comprising the Ancient palace, Jain temple, Chamunda and Jogmaya temple places, Pool, Sant Mallik Dargah, Shahi Masjid etc. are prominent.

This fort is a protected monument so visitors should not harm or damage the heritage. There is no entry fee. On the way there's no drinking water so must carry water with them and little refreshment too. If any pain or high blood pressure complain is there then they should not take any risk. Wear good footwear like sandles or shoes with memory foam to make the journey comfortable. It's a major attraction among the adventurous, history buffs and art and architecture lovers. As all monuments are built in excellent Rajasthani style of architecture and Shai Masjid is having Islamic architecture. It was a great center of art and culture.

Jalore is also known as Granite City and the most notable thing is that Jalore was the hometown of Jeewant Kunwar, Mother of Maharana Pratap.
