Irukalala Shri Parameshwari temple is on the banks of Lake in Nellore. Devi is revered as presiding deity of Nellore town (grama devatha). As per the stone inscriptions/archeological findings the temple is considered more than a thousand years old. Inside premises of the temple is well maintained.

Irukula Parameswari Temple is an old religious establishment and an A.P.State protected Monument located on the banks of Nellore Bay near the city of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, India. Irukalala parameswari Temple is located in Nellore town. This temple consists of Garbhagruha, Antarala and Mukha mandapa. This temple constructed by red literate stones (Bontha rallu). There are Kakatiya and Vijayanagara inscriptions engraved on the walls. According to ‘Prathapa Rudra Charita’ this temple and water tank constructed by Ganapathi Deva of Kakatiya.
Muppadi Nayani and his elder son Pedda Rudra were chieftains of Kakatiya kingdom gave charitable donation to this temple. Savanna Odayalu representative of Vijayanagara kingdom the officer Kanchannagaru arranged a Friday market of Nana Desi Pakkandru and collected tax for the temple maintenance.
Sri Inguva Karthikeya Sarma garu, Archaeologist declared this Irukalala main idol may be belongs to Jain cult goddess.
