In terms of hospitality and tour arrangements, this resort property has probably no equal. Our small family could not have had a better reception anywhere else.

While its remote location and rustic setting made a unique experience for us, to some these attributes may not be convenient or pleasing. Distance from Port Blair city / Bambooflat jetty can be viewed as a negative by many. For us, the travel from the jetty to the resort itself presented a scenic view every time.

Nevertheless, if given a compact tour programme, Ixzire is a place we shall love to visit once again simply because of the hosts. Yes, the place is more like an upmarket homestay rather than a resort. Guests and children are treated very well indeed.

For dog lovers, "Dushtu" - which, we we understood to be a five-year old cross-breed with a face closely resembling a Rottweiler, can be entertaining and very friendly.

The restaurant is airy. The quality of food gave us no reason for complain. In fact, allergic as we are to most foods, the dishes served were very good. We were told that the restaurant could have a bar in the near future. As teetotalers though, we enjoyed tea and snacks on the porch of the comfortable cottage that we had to ourselves.

Staff who had been assigned to take us on the day trips were extremely polite and courteous. Even when faced with an emergency that could have at the very least landed us in great trouble with the island authorities if not outright bodily harm in the middle of Jarawa forest reserve on our drive back from sightseeing at the Baratang limestone caves, the gentleman who drove the luxury SUV that had been at our disposal exclusively throughout our stay, exuded confidence and exhibited a calming presence. We thank him, and our hosts, for making our vacation a safe and memorable experience that could have been harrowing otherwise.

Ambiance, cleanliness, quality and quantity of food served, travel arrangements to tourist spots, overall hospitality and punctuality are the hallmarks of this resort property. We would recommend this to any one seeking a comfortable, cozy, and an offbeat experience while vacationing in Port Blair, Andaman Islands.

Ambience - A beautiful place between the forest which extends till the end of mangroves. Night lighting automatically attracts you. Extremely neat, clean and homely.
Food - Excellent chef. The food is freshly cooked and served. Tastes really good. If you are non-vegetarian, you have upper hand guyz.. 😉
Itenerary - They have really good connection with various islands which most others don't know or offer. First day we drove through forest with tribes and ended at Rangat for night stay. Second day, we covered 2 islands - Mark bay and lalaji bay which was virtually private islands. Only you and no one else. Day 3 and 4, we started our journey towards Havelock Island and covered 3 beaches and water sports activities. Frankly speaking, scuba-diving over there is just to watch Nemo fishes. For other fishes, you can cover at North Bay Island. Rest activities are better to be covered at elephanta beach at Havelock itself. Day 5 - we covered Ross Island and North Bay Island. Ross is more of history. If you are young enough to walf fast, I'd rather suggest you to go by walk as you can cover various details and see the places. The rikshaws there rush and doesn't let you see all places in detail. Day 6 i.e. our final day - We covered Mt Harriot National Park with a view of North Bay Island which you can see in you old ₹20 note. And ending the day with Cellular Jail and Light show.
Services and hospitality - They welcomed us with flowers. Really kind and generous staff and owners of the resort. They always are ready to help you. The coordination between the drivers are also excellent between place to place.

Amazing..just amazing is the word.. Nestled far from the commercial Port Blair, this small resort is in the middle of a jungle. It is about 34 kms from the airport and so a road travel to the resort may be difficult and time taking. The easiest way is to take a boat from Chetam jetty to Bambooflat jetty. The tickets are only 10/- per head and the journey is about 15 minutes. From Bambooflat jetty take a auto, which will be 200/-. The resort has independent cozy cottages. The hosts are so welcoming you will forget about hotels. Another thing - food is awesome. Also the restaurant is equipped with projector and karaoke gear. We sang for about 3 hrs and it was super fun. Everyone who is reading this..do stay one night here, either the day you start your andaman tour or the day you wrap the trip up !!

Great property with man groves and a private jetty. It also has a speed boat. Rooms are all cottages. Great place to relax. Far from the center of Port Blair. Cab ferry and cab will be approximately 25/30 minutes. Quiet and restful place with very very helpful owners and staff.

Nice property filled with greenery, the cottages are well done with AC & mini fridge, good food and room service ..... and above all, a very caring and resourceful owner. Definitely try out this place. Tell them at least a week before you travel about all that you want to do in Andaman and they will arrange everything in a perfect way.

Lovely place with great service and food. Excellent for birders, considering proximity from Shoal Bay and Mount Harriet. The cottages are made well with a nice sitting area.
