Ross island is a great place to spend a day. You can walk with deers who freely roam around the island and see a large species of birds. The light house is also great. It is better to not take the golf cart as you will miss out on all the great historical places that come along the way.
Ferry ticket is 370/head.

Never seen such a beautiful Island. Andaman is blessed with one of the best Islands of India. The place will take you through the past. The buildings says its too old. You can feel History of British people here. This place will remind you how powerful is time. A must visit place in your lifetime. But take your time here. The boatmen are only taking you here for money they will only give you 1 hour to visit this place but this place deserves more than 3 hour to feel the oldness of this place. Tip- Visit in the morning by 10am and leave by 2pm you will not regret.

Review:
NSCB Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a true paradise, where nature shines in all its glory. The water around the island is so crystal clear.
For those who love taking pictures, there are endless beautiful spots all around the island. You can explore easily with clean paths and even use battery cars for the hilly areas. Plus, you might meet some friendly deer along the way!
Feeling hungry? No problem! There are plenty of food and drink stalls to keep you satisfied while you explore.
And don’t miss the lighthouse near the ocean—it’s a stunning sight, especially at sunset.
Overall, this island is a perfect escape, offering clear waters, beautiful scenery, friendly animals, and everything you need for a memorable day in nature.

Ross Island! It's a fascinating place to visit in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It used to be the administrative headquarters during the British rule. You can explore the ruins of the old buildings and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It's definitely worth a visit! 🏝🌴.

A must visit with two main activities: during the day (till 2.00 pm) one can book a golf car (₹80 per head) to roam around a island with a tour guide. There are mainly historical remains from british rule. The light house is most famous viewpoint. Deers freely roam around the island.

In the evening, they conduct a light & sound show.

Welcomed by deer the moment we entered the island, Ross holds a great historical significance for Andaman. There are many buildings of the British era and the view from the lighthouse is insane. A must visit place from Port Blair.

1 hour given by boats is not enough to cover this island with ease. Try to talk to the boat guy to allow you to spend more time and return in another boat if possible. Do this if you don't plan to visit North Bay for water sports which is better to do at Havelock or Neil anyways

Bose Island was served as a capital to the British from 1858 to 1941, when the Japanese occupied it and converted it into a Prisoner of War (POW) site. The main attractions are the remnants of a church, the chief commissioner's house, a cathedral and the graveyard of Britishers.
Ross Island, presently known as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island.

Get to see nature taking up what is rightfully it's own place.

Once considered "Paris of the East", Ross island was an Oasis of extravaganza for the Britishers posted in India. They had everything they needed for a lavish vacation.
Everything they established is now gone. Slowly nature is reclaiming the buildings, but their skeletons give an aura of what might have been the situation in colonial times.

Speed boats are available from Port Blair. Worth spending an hour or two. The entire island is navigable by foot, keep a water bottle handy because summer heat is humid makes it easy to be dehydrated. There is a lot of walking uphill so it is better to ride the golf cart for those who are not accustomed. The deer are friendly, but try not to feed them biscuits or wafers as it's not their diet.

Small place to visit. You need to take ferry from Portblair to Ross Island. It comes in a package from Portblair to Ross Island to North bay. You can take golf cart for going to the highest point on the island. It has a rich background and beautiful scenic moments. Must visit place.

Until in 1941 massive earthquake on the Island almost turned it into to rubble, and until the British fled fearing a Japanese invasion, the Club ranked prominently in the luxurious social life of the British army.
Designed as purlieu for the larger number of junior men and their families, it helped the Island (named after marine surveyor Captain Daniel Ross) earn the tag ‘Paris of the East’. While it lasted, the Club was a witness to an opulent life of the personnel and their wives. Alas, not much details are chronicled - of the lavish times, the razzmatazz, the live band, the rank patronising it, and finally of what became of all the grandeur.
Massive figs and banyans of the rainforest monstrously engulfed the Club and all other abandoned edifices. The dance floor caved in. The elaborate roof and the decorated walls succumbed, leaving behind an eerie silence that was to last seemingly forever.
The sheer size of the structure is so conspicuous for a small island. The ruins of the Club, along with Settlement Club (for high end personnel) and Temple Club (for Indian personnel employed by the British) still bedevil the landscape that was once the British capital of Andamans.

This was the British administrative island during their ruling. The remains of what seemed to be a bungalow for the commissioner remains in rumbles along with an old Presbyterian church. Old bakery, press and so much more can be seen here along with the overgrown trees and its large curly roots. The island also has plenty of deers which give you a feeling that they can be petted. They allow you to touch them and play with them along with feeding them. They island is fully walkable and if you can walk please don't waste money on the electric vehicle, as you will not get the same feeling that way. Beware of coconuts falling on your head and all the trees are full of ripe and fresh coconuts.

P.S: Walk on foot and visit the whole island. Don't waste time on the beaches. You will find plenty in the next islands.
