The Shelter

We have just spent three nights at the Shelter, and had a great time. cannot fault location or service. Nice friendly staff who made us coffee at 5.30 in the morning as we were leaving.

Amazing sea view rooms..booked this just because of the view..Basic breakfast,no restaurant, have to order food from Zomato.

A great place to stay with a very good complement of staff. There are just two for staff, but these two are sufficient. It is not a hotel, but take it like a homestay. These boys will try and fullfill whatever you require and will also recommend some good deals. Not everything is perfect, but so is life. It has beautiful sea view. Bonous: The road next to it is a beautiful ride along the coastline.

We had a great stay here. But you must opt for sea view room. Clean rooms and bathroom, awesome view of North bay from balcony. Next day we had early morning cruise to Havelock so they packed sandwiches for us 5:30 in the morning. The manager helped us book the tickets for light and sound show online.

Amazing view from room balcony. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service and staff were very good and helpful.
Great location. Close to most of the sightseeing places.
Only breakfast is provided. For food have to depend on other restaurants but there are many options available around.

Staff is amazing!! Honeymoon Suite is worth the bucks spent. The balcony looking out to sea is the most attractive part, spend your mornings and evenings with a cup of tea with your loved ones sitting here.

The hotel is opened up in 2 of the flats in a building, more of studio apartments.
Try to book your rooms on the Sea-view side as the view from the balcony and window is just awesome.
The staff is very nice and friendly and can help you out in planning your sightseeing, places to go etc,
Breakfast is available anytime from early morning to late, which is a beneficial thing for passengers going for a flight or a cruise.
We had a great time here.

Decent hotel, with all basic amenities, opt room with sea view, working staff were very polite, manager was helpful, he helped us booking cruise tickets n some water activities tickets

Although a small hotel staff is very well behaved and are always present to help with whatever you need.
Rooms are big and provide all amenities.
Its just beside the sea with a great view of the sea.

Convinient location with a nice sea side walkway in front. It has a peaceful location & at the same time is near the Phoenix bay jetty, cellular jail and market.
The staff was extremely helpful.Ranjit ji helped us get permit for visiting Jolly Buoy island and promptly booked ferry from Port Blair to Havelock to Neil and back, just one day before. Uttam ji prepared nice food & tea/coffee was available anytime of the day.

This is like an apartment with many rooms. The balcony attached to dining area has direct sea view. Our room had sea view too.Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Bathroom had instant geyser.
The Shelter is on 2nd floor and lift is not available. But staff will help you carry the luggage.
Overall a nice place to stay.

Very good place to stay if you are staying in port Blair for a week . Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Ambience was very good. Rooms were spacious and had sea view balconies. Heaters and air conditioners were in good working conditions. Dining area was spacious and hotel staff arranged good and less costly food.

The hotel is located on the opposite shores of Ross island in dignabad.. and is at a walkable distance to cellular jail, Rajiv Gandhi sports complex, aquarium and Aberdeen bazar and around 4 kms from the airport. The hotel has 24 hrs hot water and Power supply. The TV was not working though. The hotel provides room service and the prices are lil expensive for the food they provide. Breakfast is complimentary. Decent place to stay for a night or two and the tariffs are affordable.

One of the excellent homestay facility at Port Blair. Great location near to market, marina park, Andaman water world and cellular jail. Staff were very courteous and helpful and provided us good food and facilities. Sea view rooms are great and good place to relax.

We also booked other tour facilities like transport etc through the proprietor and had an excellent trip.

We went to Andaman on vacations where we found this amazing hotel named The Shelter….The hotel is not so far from airport….there are lots of tourist places nearby to this hotel such as marina park & cellular jail…the hotel staff was very helpful polite and decent…The hotel manager Mr. Ranjit Kumar the man is great human being….he managed a manual ferry tickets to us without charging a extra cost also book our cellular jail light show which one of the best light show we ever watched…

Good rooms and bathroom. Maintained very clean. Breakfast is poor. Ferry tickets can be booked with help of hotel reception. Near to cellular jail and new light house restaurant, hotel owner could arrange bike for rent also.

It's real value for money. It's not a hotel rather a guest house with sea view courteous staff. I had my checkout at 6 am and he even packed some breakfast even without asking for it.

Super comfy place and good people the view is nice its at calm and beautiful location but dont expect much from their kitchen but you can easily order from around or even the owner can order for you alam bhaiya the care taker is superb host

We stayed there for the longest period 6 days...and I never felt for a moment that I was out of home...And I obviously remember the room maker...UTTAM...he helped us a lot...And the rooms are obviously clean...and even they cleaned and changed it whenever we wanted...Managers helped us every moment we needed that.
Best hotel indeed...JUST book this hotel...Don't think twice!

Perfect place for family in Budget😃.. I visited this place with my family in October 2019 and trust me this is the best place in port blair to stay with clean rooms😃 and AC plus sea view and in budget with breakfast included 😍, what else you need 😉
