The best government school in Port Blair!! I studied from class six to class 12. Then joined NIT Hamirpur.

At my time, the principal was Ms. Veena Parekh. Great principal. Loved the complete stay there. Commuting was also easier as the main bus stop is just next to the school.

The school had 3000+ students during my time. Not sure of status currently.

I have spent my 12 years in this school, the best part of my life, my 12 years are in this school, we have done a lot of activities here, but today it has been 6 years since I completed my school, even today I Makes myself feel very proud I am a student of Government Model Senior Secondary School. To be honest, today I miss my school life a lot, so it has taught me a lot, my school is the best for me.❣❣❣❣ #GMSSS 😎. .No matter where I go in the world, my identity will always be with this school because I am a student of Government Model Senior Secondary School.😎

Best government school of an era

This is one of best schools in port blair, I thoroughly enjoyed my school days starting from class 1 till 12, lot of memories. Those days, in primary school, we use to share buildings with tamil and hindi medium student and inhouse canteen use to serve lot of eateries starting from 50 paise. Ample play ground, students keep running and playing during the break time. All those memories still remain afresh even after 20 years. I am very much privileged to taught by amazing teachers. Those days respect for all teachers come naturally and discipline remain inherent part of students. During my Primary school days, I still could recall few teachers name like Babul sir, Parvathi madam, Madhu madam, senior secondary days, Yogesh Sharma sir, Omna madam, Badola sir, Shoba rani madam, Vena Pharek madam, Sisly madam, Ramgovind (Boon sir), Ramaswamy sir, kalaiarasi madam, Rao sir( Art teacher) and many more.
For me Model school remain one of the finest school in the world. I wish every student completing their education from this school to remain successful in all dimensions of life. I also wish teachers from my school days until now and future teachers to cherish the legacy and preserve it for ever.

Lot of memories associated with this place . One of the best School of Andaman and Nicobar Island. We had Best principal (Veena parekh) During our time Island topper(Avinash Singh) was from my class and total 3 or 5 was in top 10. Dont know the current standard of my school , hope it get someone like Veena Parekh Madam . Model Senior secondary School is situated in the heart of the city.
