Must visit. I would suggest to go in the morning as soon as it opens at 8am. As the day progress crowd increases and u will have to park car away from the Fort. Hire a govt certified guide at the entrance of Fort, believe me its a must. Give more time to visit the Fort and all its part leisurely. We were really thrilled listening the stories of our Kings, their valor and wonderful monument they had constructed. There are hundreds of temple in and around the Fort, try to visit few.

Fort is beautiful. The architecture and design are unique. What makes it more unique is it's surrounded by mountains which gives eye soothing experience. Best time to visit is in the evening to watch the sunset and then the light show on the fort.
Remember fort Ticket counter closes at 5pm and fort closes at 6pm. Try to reach the fort before 5pm.

Extremely good place to explore the fort.. it's well maintained and a good experience and knowledgeable for kids .

Please note, there is a parking issue at the entrance of the fort so it is better to park 1 km before the fort and then a small walk to the entrance of the fort..

There is also a safari of 1 hr at the cost of 2100-2400. They will show 2 temples, mountain ranges, leopard cave which is fine to experience.

A very beautiful place to visit. the history of the place is just explained by the beauty and hugeness of the place. the carvings over the walls of the fort and temples. The fort explains the very good architecture and ventilation made the centuries before with the less rescores and less facilities. It is a great marvel questioning the possibility of making huge structure on the hilltop of the great mountain ranges of Aravalli mountains. One should must visit this place and to know about the place more one can take a guide so they can know the place with the full history of the place.

We hardly got tired of the forts and palaces in Rajasthan. Almost every single one is a masterpiece (but for a few exceptions). This fort was special to us as it is the birthplace of Maha Rana Pratap, one of the greatest warriors this country has seen. At 36kms long, it is the longest fort wall in India. The fort houses temples and a few residences. Although it was impossible for us to explore the full fort due to lack of time, it did leave us with beautiful memories and breathtaking views.

Kumbhalgarh Fort, a majestic marvel in Rajasthan, is an architectural wonder steeped in history. Its imposing walls, second only to the Great Wall of China, enclose palaces, temples, and intricate architecture. The fort's grandeur, coupled with panoramic views of the Aravalli hills, creates an awe-inspiring experience. Visiting at sunset paints the fort in golden hues, adding to its mystical charm. A must-visit for history buffs and admirers of breathtaking vistas.

Great place worth a trip.
Steeped in history. Please plan to visit by 3 or earlier as it takes a good 2-3 hours to see the place and it is very steep and involves a lot of walking.
The light and sound show starts at 6.30 pm and the ticket is around 200 Rs for Indian tourists the price varies for non Indian tourists.
The visitors must plan well as the place closes by 5 pm

A wonderful must-visit fort of the Mewar kingdom. Located in a scenic place among the aravalli hill, this fort will take around 3 hours to visit.
Park your car outside, get a ticket on site and a guide to listen to the fascinating history of the fort.
Take your time to walk /climb through the fort to reach the top. Do visit the lord Shiva temple opposite the main fort at the end.
If you are staying around Kumbhalgarh at night, then try to watch the sunset from the temple.
You get restaurants, other food and beverages and washrooms inside the fort area.

This fort is majestic. It's around 80 km away from the city. It is a big fort and one of the highlights is having the 2nd longest wall in the world. You can see how long it is spread from the top of the fort. It'll take more than 2.5 hrs if you explore everything around, probably more as well. There is one Shiva temple as well at the foothills of the fort, which has intricate carvings made. Be mindful of the traffic and parking if you are planning to visit on the holiday or weekends. There is a fee charged to visit the fort.

Kumbhalgarh Fort AKA “Great Wall of India” built in 15th Century
Kumbhalgarh Fort, situated in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan, India, is a formidable fortress steeped in history and shrouded in mystery.
Built during the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, a ruler of the Mewar dynasty, the fort served as a bastion of defense for the kingdom against external invasions. Its massive walls, extending over 36 kilometers and said to be the second-longest continuous wall after the Great Wall of China, stand as a testament to the architectural brilliance and military prowess of its builders.
Throughout its history, Kumbhalgarh Fort withstood numerous sieges, remaining unconquered and earning the moniker of the "Great Wall of India." Its strategic location atop a hilltop surrounded by dense forests added to its impregnability, making it an essential stronghold in the region.
Beyond its historical significance, Kumbhalgarh Fort is also steeped in mystery and legend. According to local folklore, the construction of the fort faced numerous challenges, prompting the architects to seek divine intervention. It is believed that a holy saint advised the builders to sacrifice a human volunteer to appease the gods and ensure the fort's completion. In a sacrificial act of devotion, a local woman named Panna Dai volunteered to be entombed alive within the fort's walls, ensuring its completion. The legend of Panna Dai's sacrifice continues to intrigue visitors, adding an aura of mystique to Kumbhalgarh Fort's storied past. As tourists explore its ancient corridors and imposing ramparts, they are drawn into the enigmatic allure of this historic fortress, unraveling its mysteries with every step.

light and sound show happens not at top of fort but near the entry gate at shiv mandir. Tickets to be bought separately for that. Entry ticket to fort is not required for this. If one is literally interested in visiting fort then only to reach the fort by 5 pm otherwise reaching anytime near sunset will work.

The optimal time to visit the fort is after 3-4 pm, allowing ample time to complete the trek and enjoy the 6.45 pm light & sound show. The serene Shiv temple near the seating area adds to the experience. Senior citizens may opt out of the trek due to its difficulty. The panoramic views from the top are stunning! Ranakpur's wild safaris surpass those in Kumbhalgarh. Snacks at the fort are pricey, and the separate charge for the light & sound show is justified for a memorable experience. The birth place of The Maharana Pratap.built during the 15th century. Resorts are available for night stays. Jain temples , zip line is available with cost 1000 rupees etc . You can also take a guide .
