Periyamalai perumal Kovil is located inside the reserve forest which is located in the border spot of Tamilnadu and Andra Pradesh.
Reaching the end of the road we need to walk along the stream which has occassionally water in it .If we follow the route we can reach the top of the hill were the temple is located.It is actually a path made for tractor to go but due to rain it is damaged in few crucial parts.
Got to know the history of the temple from the local which is Perumal was searching for a new place to go and when he came here his leg went inside the ground so he thought the place to go is near and went to Tirupati.Till date we can see the patham of perumal in the temple which is maintained well.
Hike to and fro will take 1and half hours and it's a 5 km up and down hike.

The way towards the temple is best suited for trucking it's actually tiring to climb up. If you follow the road it's about 3 or more km to reach the top. I was really worn out on reaching the top
