Prof. Jayashankar statue located in Alwal was installed during the Telangana agitation movement to inspire the Telanganites to unite against the regime of Andhra dominated govt for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
He is the Father of Telangana who consistently fought for Telangana separation since it's inception and merger with Andhra Pradesh in November 1956.
